Man that was as disappointing a loss I have seen in some time. Neely pitches a gem into the 7th and leaves with a 3 run lead. Purnell our best reliever all season comes in and proceeds to let them bat around in the 8th and tie the game. Nesbitt gives up a 2 run shot to lose it in the 9th. Wasted weekend of great/ good pitching ruined by spurts of terrible pitching. Can anyone tell me why Halter is still hitting lead-off, he seems like he is 0 for April?

Yeah, because Sully would have told Nick "yeah man, I don't give a shyt anymore, just going through motions right now. BTW don't print that".
Actions or rather inactions speak louder than words.

Why would Sully stay, he has taken the program as far as he could. Fans don't want him here anyways so its time for him to move on like he flirted with the last couple of years.

Why are we so concerned with whether or not Sully wants to be here?

At UF, the question should be whether or not we want him here. Well at least that’s the way it used to be.

Let me count the 1.25 M reasons he doesn't want or need to leave. He should tap into the bank Napier opened and purchase a slew of top shelf up n coming assistants and quit relying on grad assistants and the useless Greg Bell in order to better teach fundamentals.

Florida's Kevin O'Sullivan is the highest-paid baseball coach in the nation. O'Sullivan has a contract that pays him $1.25 million annually signed in 2016. There is a handful of people here who want him fired but those same people seem to want all Gator coaches fired. That hardly constitutes a valid "fan's don't want him here anyways" position.

A couple of thoughts: @Jbossgator8 thinks everybody wants Sully fired. I think it is time to move on but most people I talk to disagree. Most people do not want him fired.

Sully has won here based on his stellar recruiting not on his coaching. As of right now, his pitchers indicate that Sully's judgement has become stale or he is just not putting as much energy into the evaluations as he has in the past. I do not think it is asking too much to have a great recruiter and a great coach. Maybe the divorce and family issues have taken the wind out of his sails. Maybe he is ready to take a MLB scouting job so he can travel around the Caribbean and drink rum cocktails. I just think it is time for a change, for Sully, the program and the fans.

very true @Bullag8r and @Double Gator Dad , most fans especially here haven't wanted Sully here for years now, heck I remember when fans wanted Sully GONE in 2017 during our midseason SWOON in SEC season but luckily that team rebounded to win big. Like I said about Mullen midseason that he would be gone, like I said midseason that MW would be gone, Sully will be gone this season too, the writing has been on the wall for a few years now when he was flirting with going to other programs.

I just want the last couple of season series to be about what the Gators need to do to clinch a Championship, not to determine if you are in the play in round of the conference tourney or sitting at home.

I know we won't win the trophy every year, but it sucks to be eliminated after 2/3 of the season.

I'd like to have a season where we don't have team sweep us and then go over to the Swamp and take showers with Gator FB helmets on.

Sully has consistently refused to adequately address the hitting woes. He is now facing the fact that his approach will not consistently win the conference or NCAA championship, even with top 5 recruiting classes. Now his pitching expertise is failing. Based on his demeanor, he doesn't really seem to care. He has won some championships ( SEC & 1 Natty) made a lot of money and has gained a lot of admiration in the industry. Maybe he is just tired of the grind and is ready to take an easier job with fewer demands. I wish him nothing but the best but I think it is time to move on.
this is where im at and part of me was hoping he would leave for lsu last summer. he doesnt seem to be invested anymore. no idea the reason(s) but it seems pretty clear. i'd like us to move on.

Halter looked completely disinterested yesterday. He couldn't even hit a fly ball to the outfield to win the game, k'd up on a slider a JV kid wouldn't have bit on. They just look checked out, plan and simple. It's like the team knows they are done and Sully is gone.

Pft!! You said White would be gone mid season the last three fuching years, only to call us owned and destroyed when he won a big game.. You say it long enough and you'll eventually be right.

just do not understand why the hardheaded approach to the batting order. Halter is 0 for April or at least close so he stays at leadoff. Cringe worthy!
