If you were to order an appetizer off the menu or need to take one to a Super Bowl party, what’s your favorite?

If I’m ordering from a menu it’s usually nachos so there’s enough to share.
I like to make a Buffalo chicken dip for parties. In KY beer cheese is very popular. They are both versatile with dipping pretzels, carrots, chips, crackers etc

Smoked fish dip is usually the 1st to go at a party

Not the store bought fish-flavored Mayo, but the real deal.

If the family is out and about, we’ll usually order Spinach/Artichoke dip. Usually really good with chips, great with toast points.

If we’re at Mex Beach, we make a stop at Killer Seafood and always get the jalapeño poppers. They’re just better there for some reason.

My list would be calamari(preferably grilled but fried is fine) burrata with roasted red peppers, and crab cakes. That order.

Everything is better at the beach!

You sound snooty. I bet you eat your calamari with your pinky put too. :shakehead:

(I too enjoy good calamari but not in KY)

At a restaurant I never pass up gator tail. Every always goes for the pretzel or cheese curds in my family as well.

Remembered an appetizer that seems to be becoming more trendy…Pimento Cheese. Usually served with a variety of crackers, celery, and pickles. If it’s good, not too soupy or mayonnaise-y, it can be a good starter. Don’t mind a little heat with it either. The consistency and temp at serving needs to be such that it is spreadable and doesn’t slide off the vehicle. Sweet Grass in Thomasville has some of the best.

Wife and I recently found a hole in the wall place that has some of the best Asian/Thai we've ever had, run by a Thai couple and their daughter. No frills but the food is incredible.

An app I am now hooked on is their cheese rolls. I've always loved egg rolls, spring rolls, and cream cheese wonton at Chinese places. They've taken a spring roll, and instead of stuffing it with cabbage, take the cream cheese crab rangoon that you normally get in a wonton and stuff it into the roll and deep fry it. Served with a orange based sauce with some heat for dipping. Unreal.

Sounds good. I’m sure being so authentic there was a bit of a language barrier. But in their broken English, did you pick up on anything about your new avatar being way too close for comfort and how you should change it back or face a lifetime ban?

For homemade, it's hard to beat Rotel Sausage Dip with Doritos scoops.

After several days to ponder this, I’d have to go with some good oysters Rockefeller. Not much on this planet is better.
