A win tonight against B-C at 6:30 gives us 30 for the season and 12 wins over .500. We need to win all our remaining reg. season games.

Because I am a baseball fan and a Gator for 55 of my 75 years. I know we have had problems with coaches and that turns a lot of fans off, but my hope for the kids is to see (or listen) to them play and win more games this year. Simple!

Is this a perceived threshold to make tournament?

Two winning series will give us .500 in the conference with a great RPI (12) will get us into tournaments. Closing out the year with two conference series wins and OOC win against noles, should be enough for a regional.

Gators shut out BC 7-0 with a 5 hitter and 11 strikeouts for our pitchers. Gators now 7-1 in their last 8 games with an overall record of 30-18 now.

Florida projected to head to Hattiesburg Regional in NCAA Tournament (247sports.com)

"The Florida baseball team has won its last five games, matching the second-longest winning streak of the season. The Gators have also won seven of the last eight, putting themselves into a much more comfortable position with the postseason fast approaching."

2022 Field Of 64 Projections: May 11 • D1Baseball

"D1Baseball.com's latest Field of 64 projection, released on Wednesday, has Florida as a No. 2 seed heading to the Hattiesburg, Miss., regional hosted by Southern Miss." No. 1 seeded Southern Miss is a very tough team with a record of 36-12 and is 18-6 in conference USA.

We have 7 more regular season games; winning our final two series and a win at home against a No. 21 ranked f$u at home will hopefully give our kids the confidence they need in the post season.

They made it interesting! A 4-3 drubbing of mizz and the Gators can claim victory in the weekend series. Our "bottom of the order" does it again!

As much as I would like to have hope and there has been some improvement, it is difficult for me to believe we have any chance to make any noise, given that our only decent series to hang our hats on within the conference was taking 2 of 3 at home against ARK. Beating the dregs of the SEC like UK, Mizzou and Cowbell do not necessarily set you up for Omaha. And now that Jud Fabian is swinging the bat like the Jud Fabian of last year, things just don;t look so great for a big ending.

Another series DUB for this Gators team that was left for dead a month ago. They have responded by winning 9 of 11 games when they could have just easily tanked the rest of the season and players gear up for life after college. Kudos to our guys for not giving up like some fans have on the season. Chips and ships are the goal so hopefully they can come back stronger next season with new players and a new coach possibly since we don't have the team to make a deep run for anything.

Our 4 remaining games are all at home. The noles are on deck tonite at 7. SEC will televise it from the Ballpark.

The Gators at 32-19 are unranked, but Baseball America has the noles ranked 12th at 32-18. If we win tonite, we will have a better record and better RPI, but we will probably be unranked.

The noles won the miami series last week. The Gators won the miami series in March.

We won game 1 against the noles on a neutral site in March. but lost game 2 at tally. The loss in tally was 5-0 with all the nole's scoring in the first inning. So, the home game tonite is a rubber match game for bragging rights.

The game against the :nole::nole::nole::nole: tonite is a mid week game and will be treated as such just like all mid week games are treated, even more so b/c we start USCe series on Thursday. Not making excuses, but from pitching angle, Sully has never wavered just b/c it is the :nole::nole::nole:

You are correct! So, if we want to give someone a chance, I would like to see Jameson or Ficarrotta get a start but they may be needed for relief this weekend. I expect Milchin to start since he didn't pitch this last weekend; we will probably see a lot of pitchers tonite. I think it was Pogue who got blasted for 4 runs in the first nole game; he lasted one whole out.

Sully has been messing with batting order recently in mid-week games which is an about time thing!

True, but I think the lineup is completely set from here on out. The only changes will be at 1B where Armstrong (who has been awful sans this past Sunday) and Calilao (who has been awful) will probably rotate. Perhaps BT plays 1B tonite or if for some reason Mac gets hot and begins Catching, then BT goes to 1B. But Thompson seems cemented at 2B even with that awful overhand throwing motion (looks like Jacob Young when he was at 2B, bad memories) and Halter to 3B. Fabian Jr. looks relegated to bench but could see some action these last 4 just to see)

BTW Pogue is getting better since his TJ surgery but as I had said early in the season we have plenty of arms, but will they be good enough? Even with Barco, the answer is no.
