Nobody is making you stay, or complain. These are choices within your control. Repeating it with the same undesirable result ought to indicate need for a change, no?

You can spin this all you want, but this is not a good sign. FNL produced zero consensus blue chip recruits, four or five star guys. If you're excited about that, it shows that your standards have been lowered considerably.

I'll concede at this point, it i just a body, one more on the depth chart to try and keep us afloat until a solid QB is developed. It is very possible the staff are struggling to get a top QB, but it is just as likely we are going to flip someone, given the tremendous job the staff did with the '15 class in short order and the possibility of what the next season shows on the field. Right now, we have two carry over QBs in TH and WG, we have some questionable transfers waiting to be eligible, so on the surface it can be a bad situation. It could be just as ugly when you go deeper into it, but it can get better. A lot of words to say, 'we don't know, just sit tight and see'.

But what I really wanted to ask was if JMac turns this around and we're reeling in top classes annually in short order. Anyone going to complain about a 2* backup from Texas if JMac and Nuss can turn this guy into something useful? They (at least JMac at CSU) have shown they can develop a QB - how about giving him a chance? I understand you want performance now, and I trust-hope the coaches are working on that with the transfers and whomever they are targetting for the other '16 QB. But I wouldn't knock them on this offer, as it doesn't hurt us and only has upside. If he doesn't work out, I'm sure he can transfer out later.

Last thing, Requiem, I believe we did get some of those blue chip recruits from FNL. WR Green is 4* and LB Moon is also a 4*. Just sayin.

We also got got FSU out of the picture with Manuel and fortified our relationship with Craig Meyers, Ridley, and Victor.

Generally speaking, you're right. Most of these kids are what they are. To your last point, however, remember we took two 3* QBs and one 2* QB in Meyer's last 2 classes, when we were basically on top of the world. To be fair, all 3 were reaches, and only Murphy ever even really played QB. But I think there are some times just holes that need to be filled and even the best coaches, in the best positions, simply have to take those swings.

I'll also add(may have been mentioned already) that we have a 4* athletic Soph QB, a RFR 4* QB, and a 2017 4* commit. So as thin as we are, I'm not sure we're going to get a whole lot of looks from the biggest names who typically want to play right away. Until JM shows that it's worth it to come to UF and sit behind 2-3 other star players, we're probably only going to get one good QB and then some fillers.

Ftr, I'm not a fan of this move. I'm just not overly worked up about it either.

So the FNL was one of the best in years, we made great headway with top recruits, and had highly rated players to commit to us but everyone is wanting to focus on this QB???

I'm not worked up about it, just find it amusing. Does anyone ever remember UF signing a player, or even taking a walk-on, that wasn't a starter in high school? Anyone? Give me a single name.

Protecting his blindside will be that offensive tackle we flipped from Florida international. Wow I never thought I'd say that.

He seems like a good kid that has some natural talent that the coaches think they can develop. Worse case scenario is that he is a career backup player, but at least by looking at the video he seems like he could be a pretty good backup player. There is definitely more reward than risk in this move, and if he does end up being a diamond in the rough, then in about three years we'll be talking about the genius of Coach Mac and how brilliant this move was. If he doesn't pan out, then it probably won't matter since they are still going after more QB's anyways.

Let's see. Awkward throwing motion, 2 receivers inexplicably in the same area, lack of communication as neither are expecting a pass. Yeah, sounds about what we've seen recently. Should be a great fit.

I hope you're right about his developing, we are already overloaded with backup players, thanks to the last guy in charge who shall remain nameless.

If he's a true Gator, he's gotten used to adversity in recent years and is either ready to pump some sunshine or an alt for law.
