Eastside? It was a cesspool in the early-90's, can't even imagine how nasty it was in the 70's. No offense.

I covered several of Eastside's games in 1979 and 1980. They were decent but not the best team in town. Wilber Marshall's Titusville Astronaut team came into town and destroyed them. The best high school team in Gainesville was P.K. Young with Randall Leath. Second best was Buchholz with Mad Max.
Not to sound like I'm piling on, but he does have an oddball motion. On some of his throws, it almost looks like a wristy sidearm flip. The ball travels with a lot of arc to the receiver, which probably won't draw too many complaints from them. If I knew nothing else about him, I'd say his chances of making it in the SEC are somewhere between slim and none, but then that's why McElwain gets paid the big bucks and I post on Gator Chatter.
Why do you have to pile on poor ol' Uncle Rico?!?!

Looks like he hurt his shoulder on that throw. The Ol' Ball Coach can still sling it can't he?!?! Even if his throwing motion isn't what it used to be.

Well it is Macs ass if his choice of players don't work out so we'll see if he knows how to evaluate players. Keep in mind also we won't have both Grier and Harris next year so we need some numbers.
There's plenty of kids to help with our "numbers" that are actually starters at the highschool level. This is embarrassing

[Requiem, I believe we did get some of those blue chip recruits from FNL. WR Green is 4* and LB Moon is also a 4*. Just sayin.

I said consensus. Rivals doesn't have any of them rated above a three star. I think Scout is awful. ESPN is not trustworthy to me because of Tom Luginbill, who I think is a poor evaluator of players. I'm talking about players that everyone agrees is a blue chip, like Chauncey Gardner.

I guess we can look at the bright side here. What if he'd chosen Houston Baptist over us?

Offensive lineman Christion Gainer chooses South Florida. You're right, it's better than this.

Yeah, one of those I heard from a source who heard from a source who talked to Franks while he was in a boot type of things... My point is really that if the product on the field is good somebody will flip.
It's going to be Franks or Miami commit Jack Allison (Palmetto HS). One of those 2 will eventually flip to us. I personally believe it's going to be Franks because of his family ties to the program.

I am not shocked. This is still fallout from that disaster, Will Muschamp. The brand is damaged. I hate to bang on Coach Mac but I have a hard time believing that he's gonna hit on all these 2-3 star guys. Hopefully, he wins otherwise we're in for some more dark days. This isn't the WAC where he can coach em up. You still need talent to win the SEC.

I guess we will just have to see how it plays out.

I think it is AWESOME that we beat out Houston Baptist for a second string QB... Keep it coming Coach. You and your staff's recruiting prowess absolutely rocks!

There may be some sarcasm here.

I agree with what your saying T. The only thing I can say is Mac is either a genius or a complete fool... I haven't figured out which it is yet.:dunno:

From another site where you aren't allowed to say anything negative:

"I think questioning recruiting strategy is silly, they are getting the best guys they can according to their evaluations and options. There really isn't anything to talk about, nobody in this board knows how good this qb is, nobody."
