His height is such an advantage!

Coach Nuss and Mac have done a great job at finding talent that fits their position's measurables.

Without results of wins & losses I'm going to assume that they know how to judge talent and get them coached up.

BTW can anyone even confirm the rumor that Trask is the son of a preacher? I've looked all over the internet and can find nothing. The picture I found of a "Pastor Trask" might not even be his father. Indeed, if you compare the two photos of "Kyle" they seem to not look anything like each other:

Is signing a 2-star qb a good move for Florida

First off, letâ€™s get the notion that the star rating system actually determines a playerâ€™s skill level out of our heads. That system can give you an idea of what to expect out of a player, but itâ€™s never 100% correct. For instance, arguably the best defensive player in the NFL, J.J. Watt, was only rated a 2-star recruit when he originally signed with Central Michigan.

At first glance, thereâ€™s no special skill that pops out at you. However, leading an offense doesnâ€™t necessarily demand the strongest of arms or the quickest feet. It instead requires an ability to move the ball, and that appears to be something that Trask can do quite well.

Watching the footage, itâ€™s clear to notice that Trask is a true pocket passer. Very rarely leaving the pocket, Trask stands tall with his upright posture, patiently watching the play develop until he finds an open receiver.

Just then as he releases the ball that you can see why the Gators would take a shot on him. Trask consistently hits his receivers time-and-time again, showing the type of accuracy that McElwain covets and demands out of his QBs. I know it is just a highlight film, and there arenâ€™t any incomplete passes or interceptions, but looking at his stats, the footage doesnâ€™t lie. Through 19 total varsity games, according to MaxPreps, Trask has completed 73% of his passes for 1061 yards, including seven touchdowns.

Trask doesnâ€™t possess a cannon for a right arm like most would hope for in a QB competing in the SEC, but his touch and placement make up for it. He has a great feel for his throws, seeming to have a knack for how hard or soft to throw it. Throughout the video there are examples of him either floating a nice deep ball that hits a receiver in stride or throwing a frozen rope into a tight window.

Bolded part strikes me as something we haven't seen on the field in way too long.

I've already tried this line of reasoning with the lynch mob....Some how they still deny that Mizzou won 2 consecutive east titles with a bunch of 2 and 3 stars and is now just starting to get more 4 star players. If our new staff can scratch out 7 or more wins we will be loaded with mostly 4 star, and a few 5 star players in this class.

You can win with sh*t. Mizzou has been doing it for the past two years. As far as the recruits, I believe we will get better ones near the end of this season if we show good improvement on offense.

My guess is McElwain wil need to get offensive recruits on faith this cycle as I doubt we have a huge turnaround on offense in the 1st season.

The East being down basically and key upsets to teams like Georgia (2014) etc. although they did roll on offense in 2013 but had some real nice skill players if I remember correctly in 2013.
