You are so full of sht. Show me anywhere it said he has a weak arm. Quite the opposite, from what I've read, in that he has a good arm but more importantly a sense of touch - knowing when to zip it in hard and tight vs airing it out for the WR to run under.

If you are going to talk sht, can you at least base it in facts? No. I suppose not, as it won't support your agenda.

Really? Well, maybe you can remember another Gator great preacher's son from the 90s whom everyone said had a "weak arm" and "floats" a very "interceptable ball." We recruited him anyway and he turned out alright. That's right, I'm referring to none other than Gator and Hollywood icon Bobby Sabelhaus:

I get what Ox said about this being emblematic of the issues here. I also get that it's a shame that we're paying one fired coach and one coach we're hopeful about - but who is still unproven - what we could pay to have a proven, premier coach.

However, to bring it back to the specific issue at hand, here are the Hudl videos for their junior season. The D'eriq King kid is quick, shifty and throws like Treon - better than me, but it looks more like a shot-put than a QB. Kyle Trask looks like a QB. What works on one level doesn't always work at the next. Ask Cleveland about Johnny Douchbag. I'm hopeful that our coaches know more than our message board fans, some of whom seem more concerned with how this looks than his actual potential.

D'eriq King

Kyle Trask

Watched the whole video...here's what I got from it:

Pocket passer first and foremost, but willing to run draws or pull it down and scramble when necessary.
Majority of passes were 15-40 yds (air, not YAC)

Is this where the 'weak arm' comes from? That bombs weren't called and executed? Or does the weak arm refer to not throwing a super hard laser blast at the rec'r? Because nearly everything I saw on the video was generally placed into a tight window where defenders couldn't get it, only his player, and with a ball that would be easier for the rec'r to catch (as opposed to a changeup of speed that might bounce off his chest). If the weak arm is referencing throws over 40 yds, we don't know if he can throw that if the coaches aren't calling those plays and if the offense is clicking you aren't needing to throw those (which I hope we'll be in that kind of offensive mode). Granted, it's a highlight reel, so everything is awesome, and since he's the backup then most of those clips are likely in mop up against weaker string defenses late in games. I could have some concern if SEC DBs will close quicker and those windows will be tighter, but until he is up against that speed of defense all we have is the HS videos which look good.

Not seeing the weak arm. /puts sunshine shades back on

Kerwin was weak, slow and lazy on the basketball floor in high school. My son kicked his azz 6 out of 6 times they matched up. We were both shocked when he became a successful starting QB for the Gators.

That was in the days of Pell's unlimited "walk-on scholarships."

He was one of the slowest players on the UF team as well. Speed wasn't something he was blessed with.

Bell just makes plays. Doesn't hurt to have Nattiel either.

He may have not had 40 yard speed but he scrambled a lot to buy extra time to make some nice passing plays. He had a good feel for the rush usually.

I completely agree Fever, but as a man with speed or quickiness he was not. He had a natural feel for the pocket and where to move just enough to stay mostly out of harms way to buy time.

Definitely not a speedster but I loved it when he surprisingly rushed for that 2 pt conversion in that Auburn game.

I was with my dad and his buddy on that side of the stands near the endzone. Couldn't believe it when I saw it, an already slow man on one leg.
