"Mom, Dad, after receiving this letter from UF I have decided that a misplaced "g" has helped me make my decision where I will NOT be spending the next 4 years of my life. I just can't imagine going to school or playing football for a place that is obviously full of miscreants. For that reason and that reason alone I've decided to play for Auburn. They know a lot about "g's". In fact, as I was leaving there on my official visit coach Malzahn stuck a couple "g's" in my pocket."

That doesn't explain why you don't realize that no one cares about softball or any of the other sports. . There are four seasons for sports in the South. Spring practice, preseason practice, the season, and 'Crootin', nothing else matters. The only happiness that has existed for Florida fans over the past two years is the win over Georgia. Winning over Tennessee used to matter until they became mediocre, and it's hard to call something a rivalry when one team always wins, unless they are a team where you live, then it always matters. Tennessee will become a rivalry again when they win, until then it's just another game for Florida fans. To put meaning on any other sport than football is akin to listening to an announcer tell you about the excitement of watching golf. If you're actually watching golf or believe it's ever exciting, well, you are beyond help.
