WobbleGator;n287753 said:A Gator fan who thinks we will get blown out? A Gator fan who picked us to lose two weeks in a row? Just turn the card in.
You don't think they needed any luck to be in that game? Their 2 trick plays and the fumble we should have got was about a 21 point swing.ATXGator;n287784 said:I'll keep picking us to lose until I see us play at a level that makes me thing differently. As bad as Tenn was... it took 5 4th down conversions and a missed field goal to win that game. Now I was a happy as anybody else that we won..., but that doesn't give me confidence against a team that went to Bama and won. If Bama's Oline had issues.. what do you think happens to our Oline?
The one positive is our secondary is better than Bama and our Dline is as good or almost as good, so we could put some real pressure on Chad Kelly and get some turnovers then who knows..., but I wouldn't put money on a win or a cover TBH.
Maybe I am just jaded after getting excited year after year to watch us crap the bed against the first really good team we play... of course... we do have a different coach.

TLB;n287877 said:Keepin' it real. I want us to win, just like you, but I don't think we will. We've been living on the edge and we're going to fall off at some point - I'd rather it be a justified loss to a top 5 team now than get our hopes up only to be dashed by LSU or UGA. God forbid we enter Vandy at 9-0 and stub our toe in that game. I don't want to lose any game, but I also recognize us winning everything is unrealistic. WHEN we lose a game, I'd like it to be a close one, against a top team (maybe we rematch in the SECCG?) and earlier rather than later so it doesn't hurt as much in the polls (we'll climb back in) and more importantly it keeps this team from getting over hyped on itself. 4-0 is great, the best we could have hoped for up to this point, but we are what we are - weak OL, QB in development (perhaps without a real backup, depending on TH's 'choices') and a defense that has gotten exposed more than it was supposed to. We ain't pretty, and we will lose at some point. I'd be fine with a one loss season and to have it over and done with here and now. Learn from it, and win the rest.

The problem isn't the guys he was talking about on Monday since they will recover in time. It's the guys who get sick on Thurs-Sat. If a lot of them got infected and are in latency period we could be in trouble by weeks end. This is a situation where treating them all with Tamiflu should be given strong consideration since you have to assume all of them were in contact with the ones that are sick, so it is too late for the vaccine to prevent illness if they are already infected.NVGator;n287662 said:if their flu situation is anything like I experienced the past few days, they are in a world of hurt. Lost 10 lbs like it was nothing. Still weak and my spine feels like I've been beat with a baseball bat.
Other than that, I'd say there's still a chance.

NEVER pick against the Gators!
TLB;n287885 said:I accept that TN nearly won based on a gimmick offense - not a whole lot of substance to hang their hat on offensively if they relied on two trick plays to get a good bit of their scoring. But they called those plays, and executed them, and they worked. They didn't have to pass on us, we let them run all over the field with piss poor tackling.
Moreover, we had a QB who didn't have his head on straight until the last 10 minutes of the game - if we have 'the good Grier' all game long we can KILL teams, but we can also have 'the bad Grier' all game long, or face a defense that doesn't back off and let him back into the game. To this point, 4-0 is AWESOME!! To this point, our offense hasn't shown me they can do enough all game long to win (and yes, I'm discounting anything against the two cupcakes, and taking UK with a big grain of salt). This offense has shown me heart, a 'wont quit' attitude, but not the level of execution to consistently win against tough defenses.
On the otherside of the ball, I'm looking at our defense that has given up waaayyyyyy too many passing yards (against cupcakes and KY), and who couldn't catch the flu if they got a shot in their limp noodle arms. I'll give the fact that our secondary wasn't all in place except for the KY game, but c'mon....our talent should not have been that abused. Special teams has yet to have a decent return on anything without a penalty negating it.
I love our team. God bless their massive, collective heart. I love the fact that the offense won the game against TN instead of having to lean on the defense (again) to close out a win. Everyone did what they had to, each game of the season so far, for us to be undefeated at this point. But we haven't shown we're a top team. We've shown we're a fortunate team (payback for Must-can'ts tenure?), a team that won't quit, and a team that has flashes of 'getting there'. But we're not 'there' yet, and we will get exposed at some point.
I'm absolutely dreading Fournette and Chubb. I think we have a better chance against Ole Miss than LSU at this point. But I don't think we can beat Ole Miss right now. I predict their DL will eat our offense for lunch AND dinner. Maybe not turnovers, but three-and-outs over and over. Maybe we get a special teams score for a miracle change, maybe defense can score to keep us in it. But our offense will not win us this game. Our defense has a good shot to keep us in it as I like how we match up in the secondary and believe our DL can pressure them enough to stop the run and make bad passes. But all in all, our offense won't be able to perform to a level required to win - as we expected heading into the season and have been pleasantly surprised thus far to not have it cost us...yet.
Lack of Talent? Ummm...no. If you would have said lack of experience I could have given you a pass, but claiming lack of talent is just stupid. To find a UF team with as many future ballers on it, you have to go back to the Meyer era.ATXGator;n287748 said:You can be a Gator and still be realistic... we aren't Tennessee... who thinks we are going to be top 10 every year. I recognize a lack of talent due to our previous coach.

Zambo;n287918 said:This game IMO will be a make or break for us. In 2011 we were 4-0 after cupcake time, UK and UT, then Brantley got hurt against Bama and we lost the next 4 and ended up 6-6 on the season. OR, it could be like 2012, a year nobody expected us to do jack squat and we only lost 1 regular season game. If the Swamp isn't packed and rockin' I'll be amazed because this game is freakin' huge.
