SOURCES: OHIO STATE QUARTERBACK J.T. BARRETT ARRESTED FOR OVI EARLY SATURDAY MORNING

I guess that ain't so bad, they have about 8 more on the roster.

According to two sources within the Columbus Police Department, Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while impaired (OVI) early Saturday morning near campus.
Barrett was arrested near High and Tompkins, just north of Campus after policed noticed the player attempt to avoid an OVI checkpoint in the area. Per CPD sources, Barrett was cooperative and blew into a breathalyzer, registering slightly over Ohio's legal limit of 0.08 blood-alcohol concentration.
The quarterback was released to his teammate, fellow quarterback Cardale Jones, who provided Barrett a ride home.
Jones had been the starter this season for the No. 1-ranked Buckeyes through the first seven games of the season before Barrett started his first game last Saturday against Rutgers.
Barrett has thrown for 472 yards and seven touchdowns this season while also running for 329 yards and seven additional scores. Last season as the full-time starter, Barrett broke the Big Ten record with 45 total touchdowns and finished fifth in the voting for the Heisman Trophy.
The Buckeyes are on a bye this weekend before hosting Minnesota 8 p.m. on Nov. 7.
Urbs was physically unable to respond to a request for comment due to esophogeal spasms.

Don't worry. He'll get way more punishment than what JaRapeis would have received from Mr. Spasm. I heard it on Fox. Leyer is a big disciplinarian.

On a side note, 0.08? That's less than the BAC I had before I WENT out on a weekend night in college. What is that 2 zimas? 1.5 of those shiiiity watered down light beers?

For punishment, Urban said JT would not be allowed to go trick or treating tonight, Barrett was brought to tears by this news.

A DUI is a misdemeanor?!

It's an OVI, operating vehicle while impaired. I think that's a lesser offense.

Edit: Here's some clarification.

WHAT IS AN OVI?
OVI is the abbreviation for Operating a vehicle impaired. Ohio’s General Assembly amended our drunk driving / DUI statute to broaden the offense from driving under the influence to operating a vehicle impaired. The big difference is that operation does not require that the vehicle actually be moving. As a matter of fact, the vehicle doesn’t even have to be running so long as you are in the driver’s seat and the keys are within reach. Example: the vehicle is pulled off to the side of the roadway with the driver in the driver’s seat asleep (passed out) and the keys in the driver’s hand.
If the police officer can’t prove that you actually drove the vehicle while impaired, you can be charged with Physical Control (Ohio Revised Code Section 4511.194), however, so long as it can be reasonably inferred (either through direct or circumstantial evidence) that you drove while impaired, you can be charged with OVI.
