My favorite part about this storm? The local news teams of course.

SPECIAL COVERAGE - #BLIZZARD2016
TEAM COVERAGE!!!
I have come to realize that if I don't follow their coverage and 'keep it right here', I will die - instantly.
They keep on begging people not to go out in the storm, while going live to their people out in the storm, desperately looking to interview people out in the storm.
And of course the obligatory and sincere concern from the in-studio host(s) ...
"You stay safe out there Griff!"

Yikes.
My neighbor's dog loves to frolic in the snow.

I'm in south Metro ATL and my yard looked like the first picture this morning. Yesterday, our daycare called my wife at 2:30pm to tell her they were closing at 3:30 due to the weather conditions. It was 42 degrees and had stopped raining for the first time in several days. No snow, sleet or ice of any kind. Wasn't going to drop below freezing until after midnight. I had to leave work early and go get my son. I blasted the moron in charge and demanded the owner call me to explain their dumb **** decision to close. Some middle Eastern broad left me a message, so I'm going to wait until about 5:00am Monday to return her call when I'm driving to work.

Irate. They said "the roads are bad up in North Georgia already". I said I'm sure they're a mess in places like Wisconsin, too...WTF does that have to do with our roads locally? She simply said "I'm sorry". I replied, you sure are.

Yeah, that state of emergency was some bullsh*t. But it let me get out of work two hours early.

30+ inches here, record snowfall for Harrisburg area (most ever). "Lucky" it came Friday night through Saturday evening so the wife and I could shovel throughout the weekend. I'm in physical pain.

Snow plows only cleared a single lane through the neighborhood, so they'll be coming back today to plow the roads wider and pushing more crap into our driveway in the process. I'm an engineer by nature and a bit anal about trying to get things right (could you tell?), so we shoveled the road in front of the driveway so as to minimize the plows giving us issue later. Still gonna suck when I get home from work today. Just glad it finally stopped snowing, and hoping for warm weather to melt it away quick.

Kids had fun and school is cancelled today. No such luck about work being cancelled.
