I felt it was time to remind the posters that there are tools available for people to help themselves keep their GatorChatter experience a positive one. We all know each poster is unique (with the exception of a few alias accounts). They all have their own unique personalities. Some we love, some we can't stand. It's important to me, and I'm sure most of the other posters and certainly the mods, that everyone's experience here is enjoyable.

That leads me to my point of this thread. Personalities will clash. Heads will butt. Tempers will become heated. It's a Gator fan message board and fan is indeed short for Fanatic. I strongly encourage each and every one of you to look up the definition of Fanatic. I believe you may get a better understanding of exactly the kind of person or persons you're dealing with here.

One huge tool I like to use is the ability to go to a person's profile page and look at their posting history. It can give you great insight into how a particular poster thinks, or at least the style in which they typically post. If someone says something in a thread that you believe is over the line, try looking at that poster's posting history before jumping to conclusions. Was it a personal attack against you? Or is it simply that person's "style"?

If you find yourself incapable of accepting a particular poster's style, or "persona" they portray here, there is another tool that allows you to block that poster so you no longer have to read their posts. This is a very powerful tool to help make your experience here much more pleasant. It is by far less stressful to simply ignore, rather than engage in futile discourse. Yes we have a few on GatorChatter who are quite set in their ways and will take exception to anyone who dares to disagree with them. You'll figure out who they are and I certainly encourage you to use the ignore function if you find yourself unable to click that reply button every time you see one of their posts. It really does work wonders to maintain a peaceful soul.

For the record, this post is not aimed at any one particular poster. It's simply a reminder that we're all here for the same reason. Let's try to get along, and if you find yourself getting particularly peeved at one poster, take a step back, take a deep breath, and remember we're all fans here.

Excellent post. Well written and touching on both learning about your peers and how to protect yourself from being drawing into 'discussions' that you are better off staying out of.

With that, I apologize, but I cannot stop myself from having some fun with the post itself.

There are a lot of tools around here, some may be sexual. Some are painful. Find one that matches your personality, love it until you can't stand up anymore and consider it an enjoyable experience.

All fanatics are directed to the PF. If you did not bring an explosive vest one will be issued to you. Don't bother with the definition of words there, nobody you are dealing with would listen anyway.

I like huge (sex) tools. But besides that, I like stalking people. Here's how I do it.

Please visit the GatorChatter online store to buy a ball-gag for those role playing sessions with powerful (sex) tools. Your experience may be much more pleasant, especially when you both wear masks and prefer not to know who the evening was spent with.

For the record. TLB is an ass. This is a reminder not to read his posts. If you find yourself getting particularly peeved at him, take a step back, a deep breath, and smack him in the nose a few times. It won't change his behavior, but you'll enjoy it.

Sorry, Nav. Good post, but I'm in a silly mood. Feel free to remove it if you feel it detracts from your point. Then again, maybe it makes your point - some people aren't worth listening to, and if you do read some ludicrous crap, just remember it's only a message board. Bits and bytes won't hurt me, no matter how stupid the idiot is on the other end of the web.

The only way to win is to use more words than your opponent. Facts don't matter. Internet 101.

Internet 102 - Easiest fights to win are when the opponent doesn't know you're winning. (Take that Nav)

Internet 103 - Once you have enough likes, go back and edit the post to suit your own agenda. (Take that Durty)

I only learned about static and kinetic friction. Although I also think there is some fluid friction in pipes.

Skin friction can be very painful. I learned that the hard way once I started going on really long runs

Someone needs to do a quick video on how to set "IGNORE" so you don't have to read the posts of the biggest azzhole on this board.
