IT as we know it stated in the late 50's.
Oh, you're talking about Information Technology. Sorry, I was thinking Internet Technology and we all know Al Gore invented that back in the late 80s.

Why don't we guess what others do for a living?
Cooter-turtle farmer by day and short order cook at the Huddle House by night
t-restroom attendant at a low end strip club
Law-night security at a Columbus, Ohio tattoo parlor/head shop
Sas-bouncer at an alternative lifestyle strip club
Av- shoe shine boy at LAX
Rex-morale officer at a cat boiling plant
Brad-tast-tester at a glow-in-the-dark condom factory
Ray-gynecologist at an old-folks home
Ox-fender puller at a Port St. Lucie Fact-O-Bake

I started at Tech Data in Clearwater and it was fairly primitive back then with XT and 286 computers. Not to mention 20MB drives.
And - bulletin board services for tech support over 2400 baud modems.
It's come a hell of a long way since then. Hard to keep up

I've been watching the hell out of Silicon Valley lately, but I still have no idea what you just said.

Man, I remember the old XTs, ATs, 286s, 386s.... Remember the 5 1/4 floppies? Back in the late '80s and early '90s, we used to buy boards, drives, power supplies and monitors, etc. from Tech Data.

I run business development for a custom software development shop - web based app dev services, mobile dev, database services, QA, trying to grow in the BI/reporting space. We do some staffing, too. I've grown weary of IT and have begun a very soft search. I'm open to getting out of IT. Must be a midlife crisis, because if I could make a living selling motorcycles, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I make movies. Well, videos actually. You may know me by my stage name, Lex Longwood.

I've appeared in hits such as On Golden Blonde, Shaving Ryan's Privates, and Schindler's Fist.

Alex.
Weren't you in Splendor in the Ass too?

I too would give up this gig in a second if I could make a living playing music.
The IT stuff gets old after a few decades.
Unfortunately "Don't give up your day job" is my midlife motto.

You probably don't remember who your sales reps were at TD do you?
