He always says that, right before the beat down commences.

Saban also said Will was a real good head coach that had just been dealt a bad hand.
If I were a Trailerbammer or Dwag, I'd LOVE me some Mush.

I want to thank you guys for the thoughts and prayers. The surgery went better than expected. I will have to go back for another one, in a month or so, but, barring any complications, the aneurysm is no longer a threat. I am thankful to be able to watch the game, live. After reading the thoughts of most analysts and talking heads, it is clear that we don't have a prayer. I believe Bamer will come out running, throwing quick passes to Jones, hoping that he can break some long runs and they will break the glass and let OJ Howard lose. Our LB's and Safeties are going to have to play sound defense. The matchup between Cooper and VH III is going yo be fun. I wonder how many pass interference calls Cooper will be able to convince the Officials to call. Does anyone know how severe Yeldon's injury is?

you know Bama is going to have 8 near the line until we show them we can pass the ball more than a few yards consistently on them so I doubt there are many holes for long runs until we show them we can do that.
It begins and ends with this IMO. If Driskel can't force that strong safety out of the box and maybe even force them into man, we are going to have a very ugly day on offense.

so it’ll be up to Florida’s offensive line to get something going at the point of attack in Tuscaloosa.

And that's what worries me the most.
I don't think it happens, especially if they are playing the run and dropping a safety or two in the box. Now we get to see if Roper is running the offense or we are still playing Mushball.

[h=2]Saban: Florida Is 'Way Better Than Anybody Here Thinks'[/h] 17 hours ago
When talking about Florida at his mid-week press conference, Nick Saban was almost lecturing the media in attendance and anyone watching.
The Crimson Tide are a 15-point favorite this weekend, and the Gators are coming off a triple-overtime win against Kentucky, but Saban was adamant in his belief that Florida can beat Alabama if his team isn’t ready to play.
“Florida has an outstanding team. Way better, way better than anybody here thinks, in terms of the players they have,” Saban said. “They lost a lot of players due to injury last year. They’ve got a lot of players back that are very, very good players. Regardless of what anybody thinks, they’ll be as talented as probably anybody that we play this year.
“It’s going to be important that our players play their very best. We’re looking forward to having the opportunity to play at home against a very good SEC opponent on national television. We’re just going to try to keep doing what we need to do to get our players ready to go.”
The Crimson Tide and Gators kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.

Interesting that he was so focused on the talent we have and didn't have anything to say about coaching and schemes. Especially now that we've gone to being an up-tempo offense.

Not really going to matter what the offense does if the D can't stop the run.

I agree. I'm afraid they are going to be able to control the game by being able to run it down our throats.

I thought that was supposed to be our strength this year - rushing defense

Law - No, never smoked in my life. I drink about 5 or 6 alcoholic beverages per year, which may be the problem - not enough alcohol. :-)

It probably is that doesn't mean it's strong enough to shut bama down

Bama is always tough but they definitely aren't the 2011/2012 run game and O line. I think on paper at least we could slow them down. I guess we will see tomorrow.

Yeldon has been practicing on his own most of the week because he has , I've seen either a strained or pulled left hammie and a pulled or strained left calf muscle, according to the Alabama beat reporter on 24/7 he's been wearing an " apparatus" on his left leg which was also heavily taped to try and protect the muscles. He ran some routes later on by himself but was moving slowly. In my experience Hammies are tempermental little bitches, as much as he cuts it could effect him. Also for everyone pumping their run D ours has about the same #'s and Kentucky's rb's are better than any of the teams Bama has played. We can and will roll 9-10 D line so we can keep fresh on the line. The main thing we have to do is to not let Simms get comfortable back there. He really isn't that good of a QB, most of his comps are 1-5 yds from the line. He doesn't have the arm to give our db's trouble deep. If we limit Cooper's yac and pressure him we have every reason to think we can win. Or , if we get a lead on them, they just aren't suited this year to make a come back, Cocker the #2 qb is a mess, yes Harvey is a beast but he can be stopped, also if we do go up tempo Saban and Co. have had trouble stopping the no huddle teams. Last year they gave up an average of 400 and something yds per game to no huddles. This years D is not as good as last years D . Their db 's as a whole are not as good as ours, one of their starters, Eddie Jackson picked up a quad injury last week and this is coming off missing spring with a knee and has barely practiced. His replacement is a true Fr , So if Driskel plays within himself doesn't force and if we as I ( and others) expect Roper to open up the offence I can see us coming out with a win. This aint the Bammer of old folks.
