I am reading and seeing a lot of the same excuses that were made for Muschamp all over again. LDR is operating almost at Treon levels. QB whisperer my ass. It is a shame that we will have to endure another year after this one. Gatornation has been battered for years and it looks like it will continue. The worse SEC East ever. Mac is not an SEC caliber coach. He's a mid-conference coach and a mediocre one at that. Foley really screwed us with that contract too.

At this point, there's not much reason to whine and bitch. Mac sucks and it just it what it is...

I was semi-lurking. The plan was never to perma-exit just take a break. I really think this is the beginning of the end for Mac. I see absolutely zero reason to give him a 4th year to further destroy the program.

Saw a bunch of great points here. It is odd but I think that me and Cover are on the same page in regards that we tried and tried to be positive during the Muschamp years and are now tired.

I am not totally off the Mac train but I have chunked my luggage off I can tell you that. Say what you want about Muschamp and there is a lot to be said, but his teams never came out as flat as that team did yesterday in a game that actually mattered. It was obvious from the first drive of the game on defense when they ripped off 9 on first down.

That is what bothers me the most. And his "Aww shucks" demeanor after losses was fine last year when that team had overachieved all year and had a big time blow that wasn't their fault derail their season. This year it is maddening. I would like to hear him just once say "We got our ass kicked and we got out coached and that's on me." Yes Muschamp-esque. Take some ownership!

I don't believe I've heard him blame coaching one single time since he's been here. He even went as far to say they had a good game plan coming out of the half at UT. I thought that was laughable.

This is just some food for thought. Through 22 games Mac is 16-6. Muschamp was 15-7.

If we lose to Muschamp in The Swamp I will be physically ill. What will that mean for the state of the program? I just don't know. Also, the recruiting issue was defendable when winning. It is no longer. We must recruit better.

That's it. I just had to vent. I usually look on the brighter side of things as most of you know but I had to get that out.

At this point, I think of Mac as a 'student counselor' put in charge of picking a football staff and protecting the egos of a bunch of overgrown millennials (not all, we have a few men on the field who play in spite of the side line baby sitters, but not enough to win Championships or for that matter anybody Ranked).

Let's just hope there are no extentions or pay raises between now and that 4th year. Until the booster's pony up the funds to buy out this entire staff, we're stuck with Mac along with Muschamps buyout. Mac always looking up the side of the field or at the score board instead of what's on the field is also annoying to me.

If we had that UGa gifted Eason, I think the Mac-treatment would be a desire-enema.
Eason would lose his "fire" and play casually, ho-hum. Wow ?
I think Eason would be on the bench waiting for Luke to get hurt. He was smart to choose Georgia whether or not he actually gets to be a good qb.

I have to say I have been one that has thought a lot of you were crazy already giving up on Coach Mac but after Saturday's came I have come over to your side. That was the worst effort I've seen from our team in years...worse than with Mus-chump. I don't think we have a snowballs chance in hell of beating LSU or FSU and I'm seriously doubting SC after that performance. I seriously hope we're all wrong.

The play that led to Arky's first td was either a pass interference or LDR's fault. The ball hit the defenders arm. The receiver never had a chance. It never should have been thrown. LDR decided he was going to make that throw presnap no matter what.

it looked like both, a ball that shouldn't have been thrown and possible pass interference. But you aren't going to get that call in Arkansas on that type of route.

I miss S.O.S so much, I was at the UF vs Maryland Orange Bowl in 2002 when we waxed the Terps, it was a great game and the weekend was going great until Sunday morning when I was watching sports center and they said "Spurrier announced his intention to leave The Gators". Took all the joy out of the game/weekend. Does anybody think there's a real chance he would consider returning? I know he loves his Gators but I'm sure he and Jerri are enjoying his semi-retirement which he really does deserve but he's such a competitor he'd have to consider it, no? And it would be awesome having him back at the SEC media days with his snide, witty remarks. No one can get under a coaches/teams skin like he could, the master of the one liners.

Welcome, g8orfan. I, too....was at the Orange Bowl when we killed the Terps (their fans were a-holes, unlike the Syracuse fans the year before at the REAL Orange Bowl). As you said, a great time until the next day, when SOS resigned. Kick in the gut.

Unfortunately, SOS was done with coaching here a long, long time ago....but he's back where he belongs. As for Butters, or McChewin as I call him...I certainly hope the new AD is smarter than the last one throwing good money after a mediocre coach. Not sure where we go next, but it must be a forward move, as much as I love SOS, he's not the one to drag us out of this awful place we find ourselves.

You're so right about the Maryland fans! Ran into a couple of them before the game talking HUGE s***, invited them to meet me at the same spot in the parking lot after to discuss the game and to my shock, no one was there LOL

We had a 5 game schedule coming into this year of Tennessee, UGA, Arky, LSU, and FSU. The rest of our games I think most of us were fairly confident we'd win. So far, against those 5 opponents, we have went 1-2 this year and are likely to end up 1-4 against them. That is completely unacceptable. Anybody we have played with a pulse has whipped our asses and that's sad

The pictures of Steve and the team laying on the 50 yard line after many, many SEC Championships, when you knew at the beginning of every season there was a great chance we would be playing in Atlanta representing the East, when you knew the recruiting class would be no lower than 5th in the country. When our second or third string QB could start at just about any team in the nation. I miss those days so much...
It's a great dream that he comes back, but from what I can tell he hates recruiting and I think that was one of the reasons he left USCe. I think he might even have said something to the effect of recruiting being better served by someone younger than him. Not sure he'd want the hassles and frustrations either.

I'm sure he wouldn't consider being a HC again, he's 71 and he's got the best gig in college football being an ambassador or whatever it is he does at a place he loves, can play golf whenever he wants, is the #1 Gator booster etc etc etc plus I'm pretty sure Jerri would neuter him. He's living the dream. I just miss him running up the score, being arrogant as all get out, winning conference champion after championship and he had the best one-liners in the history of college football.
