Today is a day when all Americans should stop and realize that the freedom we have was fought for and paid for with blood and sacrifice. To all my GCMB brothers and sisters that have worn the uniform, and for the families who sacrificed while their loved ones were away defending our freedom, thank you for your service to our great nation! Please, stand and be recognized on this virtual sounding board with your branch of service and the years you served so your fellow posters can see who you are! Thanks again!

Thank you all veterans (including my Dad, and few Uncles, my dad's dad, and many great friends I met while living in Mississippi). I also want to put a shout out the the families of veterans. That is a difficult life. An emphatic salute for you.

36 years ago I reported to my boat (USS Sturgeon SSN 637) and we were on our way to the Arabian sea but when they realized Reagan was going to be the next President they miraculously reached an agreement with Carter. They weren't that stupid.

A BIG thank you to all the men and women that served our great country, especially my dad, brother and my Lt.Col brother in-law who was an A-10 pilot in both Gulf wars. "Go Ugly Early"

My dad was a pilot in the Navy. Had over 100 carrier landings in active duty. He had to eject one time - scary stuff.

Thanks to all of those who have served any branch of service, even the USPS, aka.

USCG '92-present.

Can't believe I'm at 24 years and counting. It's an honor to serve. My wife and 3 daughters deserve a lot of credit for putting up with the sea time and PCS moves (last summer was #10).

Lastly, I've been very fortunate in my CG career. I cannot fathom the difficulties experienced by my DOD counterparts with boots on the ground in hostile territory. IMHO, you guys deserve highest honors!

'Merica!
