So the wifey got me tickets for Christmas, and I'm really not sure on how we will spend our time Saturday before gametime. I was thinking of just paying for event parking at the dome and walking around the premises like any other away game. Anybody have any suggestions on which lot would be best or places for lunch closeby? It's just myself, my wife, and my 10 year old son...we just want to have a good time and try to stay out of harms way. Thanks in advance for your responses!

First welcome, get a avatar, and you will have a great time. I would suggest to get a hotel close to the stadium and walk everywhere. I went last year and that's what we did and had a blast! The SEC Fanfare is a must.

Got this email from the Alumni Assc. if you're interested. You also might want to do the SEC Experience at the stadium for your 10 y.o.. He can do punt/pass/kick and run the "40" etc.

The Florida Gators are heading back - once again - to the SEC Championship in Atlanta. Gator Boosters and the UF Alumni Association will be in Atlanta to help fans celebrate and cheer on the Gators, starting Friday night and continuing until game time on Saturday.

FRIDAY 12/2

SEC CHAMPIONSHIP PRE-PARTY with the UFAA & GATOR BOOSTERS

FanFare is a good thing, one time. After that, it is just a crowded mess with retailers throwing samples at you.

If you aren't staying in a hotel in proximity to the Dome, parking and dealing with downtown traffic there is a waste, take MARTA instead. Anything food-wise around that place is jammed on game day, I normally find a sports bar or Hooters to meet up at on the perimeter then take MARTA in to the Dome door.

Last year of my gravy seating at the Dome, who knows how screwed up the renewal process will be for next season in the new building across the street.

Been lucky enough to have been to see the Gators 7 times in the SEC and SC/Aub game. Love it. Im so old I was at the first one in Birmingham.

Go to Fan Fare but do it Friday late afternoon. Saturday just tailgate and walk around. it is a unique atmosphere but Fan Fare is a zoo on gamely.. It is the Super Bowl of the South. Not corporate event, true fans everywhere. Missed last year but will be odd as first time Im there we just are not expected to win (or compete)

Also, note that when Bammer is in the game, it will be 75/25 Bammer fans there, due to them hoarding the tickets during the inaugural year and renewing them thereafter. SC makes a point about FanFare on Friday instead of gameday. I would expect the College Football HOF to be a zoo game day as well.

Renew based on seniority, years renewed, etc. I've been in row 1 of 237 since 1997 when I upgraded to that point after being upstairs in 1995 and 1996, right above the East band right even with the sideline. Incredible seats.

They are starting the renewal process in January, much is much earlier than usual.

Avoid MARTA at all costs & never take it at night. It's bad enough in the daylight.

Have my tickets that I have bought from the SEC since '92 and they come with FanFare tix. That's a good option but do it on Friday. Stay away from MARTA and the Underground especially in the evening.
