Sounds like Toney and Massey are going to be lit this year as the kids would say. I think Toney has the potential to be Harivns-like, especially in space with the ball in his hands

Ask the folks who say Urban was worth the two National Titles. Lot of bad karma from his days

Karma isn't responsible for completely losing our way as an athletic program because of one loss, deciding to emulate a rival whose identity has never been consistent with our own, wasting an entire year of coaching search zeroed in on one imbecile because he comes from a certain tree and speaks the way many of our boosters prefer, and then allowing said imbecile to stay a year too long without a shred of actual justification.

I don't believe in karma. But even if I did, all of those things were completely avoidable. And other than his leaving, with a 12 month heads-up to prepare, Meyer has little to nothing to do with it.

Please no. Being "lit" is a big part of the problem we're dealing with, right?

Couldn't disagree more. If we learned anything from Meyer's tenure it's that discipline is necessary for long term sustainability of a program and favoritism should never be tolerated.

I'm not saying there aren't some cases where a kid makes a relatively isolated mistake and discipline helps him to grow up. Nor am I saying the truly bad things should be overlooked. But despite popular myth, guys like Harvin and Hernandez were punished with missing games because of "injuries", because of failed tests, and other minor things. And where did it change them? They were bad people here, and were equally bad later in life.

I just think there's only so much a coach is going to be able to do, especially with limited contact rules. As I've said before, if they're that bad, kick them out of the program. But to suspend them for a game over weed, or something else somewhat minor, has no track record of effectiveness. And my point was that even with AC sitting, we're still going to hear about this relentlessly and the program still gets the black eye. So why not get the performance out of him. He's not going to change, and the real damage is going to be about 8 months when the NFL pays him a fraction of what his talents warrant. If we're still ok with him wearing O&B, what difference is Sep 2nd or Sep 9th?

So... is the sky falling or do y'all think we will be able to handle this short coming

I would say the sky is dark, gloomy, and threatening, but not quite falling yet. If none of our QBs can beat out LDR for the starting spot, then things will most likely fall apart quickly.

The suspensions are no biggie.

Everything hinges on the OL play.

I think that's the very first time I've seen Sofla get a dislike.
