Mac and Meyer's third year teams

Mac's 3* defense is better than Meyer's 4.5* defense and if you interchanged Tebow and Franks, this year's offense would be better than Meyer's with Franks at quarterback.
Is Mac a good coach? No. He should have recruited a QB. But that is actually his one big failure.

Even better if you gave McElwain the RSR Wueffel and did not allow any of this coaching staff to talk to him, think how good UF offense could be, NOT.

Alas you DO NOT recruit QBs. You recruit QB prospects and must coach them up into being QBs in college. One part of this equation is missing, can you guess which one it is?

Yeah, and Tim required so much coaching. Look, here's the difference in the two coaches in a nutshell: Urban kept Percy, Hernandez, and the rest and had two sleazy national championship teams. Mac lost or ran off Grier and has mediocre teams. That's about it.

The defense is worse than 07 by the rankings. You can't compare raw numbers with how the offenses have took off in the past 10 years. Its 41st right now and the offense is straight garbage. Tebow wouldn't make this equal to the 07 offense.

Grier looked average here under Mac except for a few quarters. He looked pedestrian against KY and Missouri etc. under Mac.

what else should we interchange, the '07 offensive line was better, due to recruiting... the skill positions were better due to recruiting.... the d-line and LB were not as thin due to recruiting...

but yeah... very similar... I mean if Meyer lost 9 bodies in 07, he wouldn't have been .... oh hang on, Meyer recruited better, so he would have 9 bodies that were not walk ons to step right in.

Fever, in his defense Grier isn't the quarterback Tebow was.... but this staff would have made Tebow look worse that he was.
