Curious how all this will work out at the end to get the 4 teams.

2 teams look to be locks almost - Bama and Oklahoma. Bama is getting in no matter if they lose to Auburn or lose in the SECCG and Oklahoma isn't likely to lose at home to West Virginia though it could possibly happen.

That would leave the 2 other spots up for grabs.

The Clemson/Miami winner will be in good shape probably.

If Ohio St. takes care of business against Michigan they will probably get an undefeated Wisconsin team in their championship game. Wisconsin's schedule is such a joke they will have to go undefeated to get in.

In the SEC Auburn is close to controlling their destiny probably short of Wisconsin going undefeated.

You also have Georgia in about the same situation as Auburn and maybe an even better one if they played Bama in the SECCG and pulled an upset.

I honestly don't think there is any locks after last night. Bama, Oklahoma both could still lose.. There is a real possibility that two 2 lose teams could possible get in. I'm going to throw up if Ohio St finds its way back in after beating Wisconsin.

After that loss yesterday GA needs a miracle from all other teams to get in even if they beat bama.

I think Georgia would be a lock to get in if they beat Bama in the SECCG unless Wisconsin runs the table.

The Clemson/Miami winner will be in good shape but if Clemson wins that game the ACC championship game will be a rematch of those 2 teams. Does Miami get in with a split with Clemson? It would be hard to keep Miami out if they only have one loss.
Clemson and Miami don't play between now and the ACC championship.

Who knows, I wondered how GA was number one over Bama. Time will tell.

Don't care. We aren't even good enough for the toilet bowl. Why would I care about who goes to the play-offs? 2017 college football is dead to me.:fatnanner:

A one loss SEC champ is in (Bama or UGA).

A one loss Bama who doesn't make the SECC game (loss to Barn) would be on the bubble.

A two loss Barn that beats both UGA and Bammer when both were #1, then turns around and beats UGA a second time for the SEC crown, is in.

Only team from Big Ten that can make it is Whisky, but only if unbeaten and beating pOSU in title game.

Only team from Big 12 that can make it is OU, who must win out (far from given due to possible Bedlam rematch in Big 12 title game).

An unbeaten or one loss ACC champ will get in.

Pac 12 is shut out.

Don't laugh, but an unbeaten UCF could back their way into the playoff.

What would I pick at this point?

1. Bammer - they got their scare last night at Cowbell, they throttle both Barn and UGA.

2. OU - they win out, even winning a Bedlam rematch.

3. Clemson - they barely win out, escaping with wins against USC and scUM.

4. Big Ten winner - even pOSU wth 2 losses and getting shutout last year will get in, the committee worries about $$$ and ratings, and the outcry for two more teams begins.

I forget about the Big 12 title game being started up again.

My picks would be: Bama, OU, Miami and OSU. I think OSU beating an undefeated Wisconsin at the end would be enough for them to place them over the other 2 loss teams and I think Bama gives Auburn a 3rd loss.

There is ZERO chance Ohio St. gets in as the first 2 loss team. You can't, I repeat, you can't get blown out by 30+ points twice in the same season and make the final 4 in football. If that happens, then you know it is more rigged the the DNC!!!!!!

Let me know the 2 loss team that goes over an OSU that wins the conference beating an undefeated WIsconsin team and also has a win over Penn State? I think Auburn would be the only 2 loss team to go over them if they ran the table. You can get away with bad losses if you have better wins.

I would say that TCU, Ok St. maybe even USC over OSU. I get your point, but 2 losses by such a huge margin seems a bit much to me. BTW, beating an undefeated team like Wisc. does not move the meter with me given Wisc. schedule has been below pathetic.

  1. In the playoffs: WISCONSIN, AUBURN, CLEMSON, OKLAHOMA. Here's how:
  2. Auburn gets Bama at Jordan Hare Stadium. So for the sake of stirring the pot, let's say Auburn wins and leaves Bama with one loss and no championship. Then assume Auburn beats Georgia a second time. Auburn finishes with two losses and an SEC championship.
  3. Let's say Miami remains undefeated until losing a very close competitive ACCCG to one-loss Clemson.
  4. Assume Oklahoma wins out. They are a one loss conference champ.
  5. Lastly, assume Wisconsin wins out to become an undefeated conference champ.
  6. PAC-12 will have a two-loss conference champ.
  7. Here are the teams in the playoff for sure due to one or fewer losses and conference champs: Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Clemson.
  8. Who fills the 4th spot? One loss Alabama who lost to Auburn? Two-loss Auburn who wins conference by beating a team they throttled the first time around? One-loss Miami who arguably has a comparable SOS to Bama? Two-loss PAC-12 champ?
  9. IMHO, Auburn will be the 4th team by virtue of being a conference champ in a stronger conference than PAC-12 and a higher ranking.
  10. One loss Bama might not make it to playoff.
  11. Fly in the ointment would be one-loss Georgia winning SECCG. In that case Georgia is in and Bama/Auburn stay home.
