I'm not saying they won't contact Kelly as they should.
I'm just saying it makes perfect since to fire Mora when they did after losing to USC. Why wait another week, what do they gain from that?
It doesn't matter who they are targeting the timing was right to fire him it wasn't curious at all.

I'm not worried about UCLA at all.

He must have confirmed his earlier lead to report this.

I don;t doubt that Kelly would not be able to put up points against some of the SEC teams, but I base my theory on history. when given a month or so to prepare, Auburn limited Oregon for the most part in the NC game. given an entire offseason to prepare, LSU stoned Oregon for the most part to open the season. I do believe Kelly was the HC in both those games. Now 2 games in not enough for me to extrapolate but it is about the only league where a decent portion of the coaches still care about some defense. As I said I am not a Kelly guy, but not just b/c I am not enamored with him as a coach, but I am not a fan of his personality. I truly want a HEAD FOOTBALL COACH. Not a guy who has one particular specialty.

I wonder if the pace of negotiations or the interest from Kelly started to cool when/if word was sent out regarding the UCLA job opening sooner rather than later.

Worst case scenario:
Kelly to UCLA
Frost to Nebraska
Mullen to UT
Norvel to Ark
