ESPN confirmed that UCLA bought out Mora's contract for $12M dollars. To me, that sounds like a school with plenty of MONEY and a school with a plan to pay whatever it takes to get who they want. You don't willfully pay someone $12M to go away if you aren't willing to pay a LOT MORE to get someone to come to your program.

Compare this to UF, and this hurts to say, that waited until the could get rid of JM on the cheap due to his unsubstantiated death threat claims and I would say that UCLA has plenty of money and is willing to spend it where UF may have just as much but is acting as if they need food stamps to keep the doors open. Again, UCLA paid Mora $12M to go away. You don't think they have a damn good shot at CK?
It was bought out, and we know they leaned on their booster for it. They will have the money to pay Chip, that's not the issue. But its laughable that UCLA has the financial resources of Florida. Even those who have worked there admit they do not.

When did UCLA or it’s fans ever care enough about football to throw a ton of money at their football program. They are much too busy following the Kardashians

That was one of the apparently many dozens of things listed on the for cause allegations. It just happened to be the one that made the news and was the straw that broke the donkey's back.
I would love to have been a fly on the wall during a Mac-Stricklin fight.

Strick, "Mac, your O.C is putrid, you need to make a change"

Mac, "Hee-Haw, and yet I make a good PB&J"

Strick, "Is that Del Rio's head in your lap?

Nord, "I like turtles"

Let’s play along and come up with a massive conspiracy theory.

Kelly is done and heading to UF. However, Frost is a favored son looking for a bigger better job but not ready for prime time, in his mind. Dunn says I have the perfect solution. Frost to UCLA, but we float Kelly there until UF season is over. Gives Frost time to negotiate with a huge smoke screen. Frost is given a job that is capable of winning with little pressure and good money and recruiting base. It gives Kelly plausible time to milk his NFL contract. So there you have it, Kelly to UF and Frost to UCLA.

Butters got pissed off when the quarterback completed a forward pass too but he just wasn't likely to punch things
Maybe... but he had terrible aim... when you hit something you're pissed... when you flail your arms in the air without hitting anything you're just being pissy...

Honestly UCLA doesn't have the money. Could an angel booster come in and drop $50M for Kelly and assistants? Certainly. But back to your point I don't think anybody cares about UCLA football that much.

What if we all started Tweeting that it is official and done and the terms are xyz, then, they will have to get it done or deny it. A massive Gator conspiracy. Assumed consent.

I still find it so appropriate that he spent the final few minutes of his last win(Vu) furiously crticisizing the player who had the audacity to score the sealing TD.

Couldn’t script it any better.

I was very worried once I first learned that our guys did not officially seal the deal Sunday night. But, the more I think about it, the more I feel confident that Kelly will be the new coach. Here are my reasons:

1. Kelly had to fly somewhere to meet the UCLA people. We flew an armada of Gators brass to his house, to let him know that we are all in on him. Big egos love that kind of $#!+.

2. Those of you who think the Nike v UA isn't a real issue are missing something. Nowadays, A LOT of the coach's salary package is paid by the equipment deal that school has with the uniform brand. We are a Nike school. We have a massive fanbase, and are a huge TV ratings draw, when we are competitive. Phil Knight and Chip Kelly are tight. There is no way Phil Knight wants to see Chip Kelly being paid by UA, and wearing UA on national television. Brand $ dominates the sports industry now. I think this is a huge factor on our side. We may have to suffer with seeing a different uniform every week (which will suck for classic uniform purists, such as myself), but the recruits will love it.

3. Chip Kelly's ego will demand that he go and slay the Saban dragon. He has already dominated the PAC 12, and he will want to dominate the SEC. Elite coaches want to climb the biggest mountains. The PAC12 is not the SEC. Sure, he can go to UCLA to live a damn good life, but like Neuheisel said, they are not an elite FOOTBALL program, and likely never will be. No matter what they do, there is a school across town that will always be the dominant team in the entire region. UCLA will always be the little brother and will never pass USC in football stature in LA, or all of Southern California, for that matter. Hell, if USC matures on defense next year, they could win it all. UCLA will be lucky to win 4 games next year if Rosen goes to the NFL.

Chip Kelly will be in Gainesville soon. Very soon. If not, either SS and the brass $#!+ the bed in NH, or Kelly isn't half as smart as we think he is. If so, WDWHA.
