Mullen is absolutely an upgrade over butters, and is a good coach, but I don't think he's a legitimately great one.
I see him being like Richt at Georgia: always basically meeting minimum expectations, but rarely exceeding them. Under Mullen I expect we'll always be good, but rarely great.
Again, this will be a huge upgrade over the total dumpster fire we have now, but... Sigh.

Ugh this sucks. My family has had season tickets for 32 years and we said we were probably going to cancel unless we hired a coach that gave us something to look forward to. Looks like our decision has been made for us and we’ll be saving a bunch of money. At least I can sign my kids up for fall sports now that we won’t be out of town on the weekends.

Yep. We've had our Ray Goff and our Jim Donnan. Now it's time for our Mark Richt.
Maybe in 10 years or so after we kick Stricklin out and some of these boosters have died and been replaced by people who are tired of sucking, we will do what it takes to get a great team back on the field.

Best thing Mullen cld do is open his 1st presser with "Urban Meyer is the ultimate bullsh@&$er and hypocrite, so I haven't spoken to him in years." He should never mention Urban or his tenure here.

I sure hope we at least waved 7 million at Frost before we decided to pay Mullen that. He is not worth anywhere close to that. Also, are they going to put in a badmouth provision as an out? If he talks sh it about Gainesville or the fans then they can get out of that contract. Make his wife live in Orlando and keep her out of town. Better yet just trespass her.

Oh, I absolutely feel we're overpaying; the price sounds like either Stricklin panicked, or got into a bidding war.
Then again, if we're also paying to force UT to hire Greg Schiano, it might be worth it.

I don't want Mullen at any price. He publicly indicated he was not interested so he should not be interested. And 7M is way too much for any coach.
That said I root for the Gators, I can't always stand to watch them though.
