A lot of angst and anger flowing, I get it completely.

Ok we swung for the fences with CK. I don't think frost was ever really going to consider us.

So we got a stand up double with DM. Whether he scores from 2nd is going to depend on his staff. We need coaches to develop talent quickly.
I'm not happy but I'll hope and pray this gets us on the right track.

First post...I came here because I was excited about the hire and wanted to see how the rest of the fan base felt. Shocked at what I'm reading.

Please tell me what I'm missing...

Mullen in 9 years at MSU: 69-46
MSU in 9 years prior to Mullen: 37-69

UF National Total Offense Ranking:
With Mullen:
2005-2008: 61, 19, 14, 15
Average: 27th

Since he left:
2009-2017: 6, 82, 105, 104, 116, 96, 112, 116, 111
Average: 94th

What the hell is everyone so pissed about?
Tebow and Harvin coming with him?

We won’t be winning with Mullen. Unless you consider 8-4 winning. I admit he’s an upgrade over Mac (who wouldn’t be?) but it’s just like when Foley hired Zook...panic mode. At least Foley didn’t make Zook one of the highest paid coaches in the country. Stricklin will likely be looking for a job about 2-3 weeks before Mullen is doing the same in 2021.

$7-mil a year and this is the best SS can come up with?! They must really be great friends. I think I am going to be sick.

This is another "path of least resistance" hire; the easy way out. With this hire, Stricklin shows that he is incapable of landing the big one or of thinking outside the box. Bringing in coach from his former school. How imaginative. :wtf:
Its a 7million dollar experiment !!!

Chip’s offense isn’t that different than Mullen
Except Kelly is an offensive savant and Mullen is an idiot loser who wears sweaters that read "sh#tter's full".

Why would he take a job where he is hated? And is Stricklin clueless or is he intentionally giving us the finger?

See my sig. I had a feeling Stricklin was an idiot and this proves it.

Do you suppose we offered Kelly $7 million? I doubt we would have offered Frost that much, but Kelly? Easily, I would hope.

Welcome to the board. Illegitimi non carborundum.
Pictures of him with farm animals.

Seriously, I read somewhere that he couldn't pass due diligence with Florida or Tennessee.

I doubt it. I suspect we went full blown panic mode after Frost told us to get off his doorstep.

The only thing I can say that's positive is we have Mullen and 7-5 seasons while the facilities are upgraded, then try this again in 3 years from a more equal footing, and a new AD.

I could see this approach if we hired a great recruiter that we could get for 4M per year. If it didn’t work we’d have good talent and top notch facilities to lure a big timer. But if it’s true we’re paying Mullen 7M who is not a great recruiter it seems like a bad idea

Serious question... was Mullen recruiting when he was at UF. My biggest concern is his ability to recruit
He doesn't do anything well. Nothing. All you have to do is look at his record against equal opponents. He's a terrible coach who for some reason has been propped up as a hot commodity.

Dan Mullen was the OC here NINE years ago. NINE. It's a different league now. He ran plodding offenses at MSU with talented QB's. Bama & Auburn gutted him for NINE years. This is a BAD HIRE. He calls, or his OC calls lousy play series'. My 11 year old daughter can figure them out. For Christ sakes NUSSMEIER's lousy offenses were more imaginative than Mullen's plodding whales crawling up and down the field. This is insanely bad on every level imaginable.....
