Next year Mullen must win:

Charleston Southern, no UF coach can lose an opener like this
UK, no UF coach can lose to UK at home
Colorado State, Mullen can not lose to McElwain's old program
at UTn, This is a program in disarray and must be a win next year.
at Miss State, Mullen can NOT lose to his old team.
LSU, Mullen can not lose to Orgeron at home next year.
Vandy, UF coaches and $6 million dollar coaches can not lose to Vandy.
UMo, UF coaches and $6 million dollar coaches can not lose to UMo.
SoCar, Mullen can NOT lose to Muschamp particularly at home.
Idaho, no UF coach can lose a game like this.

This is what Mullen has bought into particularly taking a $6 million dollar price tag. Any coach worth $6 million will easily win 10 games with UF schedule next year. Most of the above 10 games should be blow outs.
Urban was 9-3 his first year. I'm fine with that as long as he wins the Natl Championship the next year.

I'm really not trying to be negative. I am going to be realistic though. Mullen has a head coaching record. He's gone 10-3 once in nine years.

If you want 10 win seasons we could have hired mark richt from miami.

I get it "but that was miss state, we're UF".
Im only judging the man by his own resume. Don't get me wrong Miss st earned respect and I'm happy that we aren't going to be a look ahead game anymore. But thinking that he will do something he's never done is just a wish.

True, but fans thinking or wishing anything counts for bupkus on the field.

I would hope his ability to get talent and succeed is greater at UF than MSU. MSU is second fiddle even in the state of Mississippi.

You get a dislike for contradicting yourself.

I think he means go 0-10 from the list provided which the leghumpers aren't on. We play 12 regular season games a year and I'm assuming the OP was factoring the leghumpers and clowns as losses. :dunno:

As I said above, those are 10 games that make up the minimum acceptable number of wins next year. I think he should beat UGa next year and maybe win at FSU, but the 10 I focused on he MUST win. Anything less than 10 wins is a terrible disappointment in my view.

Why don't we say, let's get thru the year with a healthy QB that lasts the entire year, I think it's been since Mullen left that we've had ONE STARTING QB make it thru the entire year with out being injured for some or all the year or suspended like Will Grier......The let's try and have an offense that's in the top 50 in the nation, it's been since Mullen left that this has happened....and finally let's look like we have an offense that converts 3rd down into 1st downs on a regular basis versus now when it's 3rd and anything, you have the sinking feeling that we punt....after that I'll be happy....

I think so too. We take care of these two rivals. What did Meyer call them? SOW? Nut up.

Spurrier and Meyer won 9 games their first year......enough said...

Were there 12 game seasons then and did they face the same schedule UF has now and were the teams they faced similarly strong. So maybe enough said, until a little more thinking is done.

It was the SEC the entire time.....and SOS and Meyer both played Bama both times.....plus FSU was at it's Pinnacle with Bowden when SOS got there....

I see maybe you were saying SOS and Meyer with tougher schedules and fewer games won 9 and of course Mullen's minimum expected wins is 10. Sorry, I took it the other way around.

Sounds reasonable... until I think of how bad we are..

QB - We don’t have one... hopefully MC can be the guy.

RB - plenty of talent

WR - Cleveland and Toney - the rest are not good. I’m assuming AC goes pro

OL - lololololol

TE - Average at best

DE - some talent there

DT - young talent, but no depth

LB - average at best

DB - young talent, but no leadership

Honestly how do we know about any of the positions with how poorly they were coached?

QB - we have an underdeveloped guy possibly getting his first real coaching at this level,
RB - ton of talent
WR - Who can run routes outside of Cleveland
OL - soft
TE - soft and bad routes
DE - talented, but at times soft
DT - young and swallow
LB - soft, lack of depth and talent
DB - talented, but extremely poor safety play

Hopefully that will change with the new staff, because at least they will be coached... we have a limited roster with underdeveloped talent.

It doesn't matter who our coach is next year, with the roster we have ... 10 wins is a wet dream. Y'all need to wake up and have realistic expectations for next year. We are going to take some hits on defense again and I dont see them improving much. Will we even be close to 70 players next year?

Let's play and prepare as Gators should. Then the wins will come, or not if we really are not good enough. I bet the wins will come.

And if we win all those games, some will complain that we didn't score enough and the only reason we won is because everybody else sucks even worse.

Well that was the case for Butters in 2015 and 2016. If he didn't have Chumps bluechip defenses he wouldn't of had much success in his first or 2nd year.

That will never happen with this offense. You cant carry the ball 30 times a game and not get hurt.
