Like what?
Well, insufferable.

I didn't like the Muschamp hire, I didn't like the McElwain hire, and I didn't like this hire. However, I realized I had no choice but to take a wait and see approach for all of them, because I knew none of them were going anywhere for at least 3 years.

I think he basically nails the majority of the fan base. I will say that Foley deserves to be vilified though, he was a trash AD for the football program. If there is a reason the gator brand is toxic, it's his doing. He's the one that hired the last two incompetent coaches and put us so far behind in the facilities race but I digress.

It is almost exactly what I was told. He would say I want $X mil plus A, B,C, and D, we'd eventually say ok, rewrite the contract, send it to him, and repeat the process... for days.

Why exactly donyou doubt it Alex? Bc Dooley didnt endorse it?
Because your eyes are brown.

My how things have changed in here over a couple of days. I agree with most of the article, but I'm surprised it is getting so much props in here. Seems like cooler heads are prevailing.

Surprised this these quotes didn't cause some in here to go apoplectic:

this Florida job may very well be toxic right now

Now we have had multiple connected people this week give testimony that former UF players and current college and NFL coaches all are keenly aware of how incredibly awful the online Gator fan base is. I specify “online” because I still don’t think there is a better game day crowd in all of sports than The Swamp. The Gator fans who support the team in the real world and aren’t keyboard cowboys are the best fans in the world. I truly believe that. Or, they are at least tied for the best, as it’s a pretty hard thing to quantify.

But our football brand is poisoned right now. No matter how strong it is, not many people will touch it any more.

Why would anyone object to the premise that the football program is toxic? It's a dumpster fire because of the worst coach I've ever seen, James McElwain.

Of course we’re a poisonous fan base right now - we’ve gone from royalty to recycling in no time at all. I’m so sick of people thinking we’re above the threshold on being pissed. We have been so terrible, so inept, that all of the joy is gone from the program. I can’t even wake up on Saturdays in the fall without immediately being miserable and looking for a bottle. Give us something to hope for, then perhaps we may sing a different tune. Ridiculous.

Meehhhh. He is what he is, a great x's and o's guy, but a total sycophant. I will tolerate the fvkked up analysis in order to read his occasionally brilliant x's and o's.

He has yet to figure out that Nusschump.and McElstain's offense sucked, even after the tv analysts were basically mocking Nuss. PD mentions people unfairly criticizing Fooley, even after it is beyond argument that Fooley made three terrible hires.

He is what he is.

Good read, just way too long.

Agree with most of it, and I remember the angst here Sunday with no decision being made, I thought he nailed that part well. We are NOT TINNERC!!!

It comes with the territory. Bammer went thru several horrid hires, sucked a bunch, and eventually demanded to return to championship football. Dedicated fanbases, yes fanatical fanbases, are why great coaches make tens of millions to play a game.

You cant bullshyt this fanbase either, with fake championships and spouting records vs baby seal teams. Perhaps McElstain should have researched more.

. If we had a functional offense in 2012 or 2015, we might have won championships.
Even an average offense gets us in the top 5.
Sounds like the guy seriously called out some of our fan base ............

Decent article but of course he had to play the, “it’s the fans fault” card. How pathetic and unoriginal. This fan base is no worse than any other top tier program fan base. While some of us complain loudly on social media, fans of schools like bama and LSU murder each other over games. It’s the fans fault... gtfo.
