So what is your guess as to what the dad means by "not committed to him"? Do you think they would interpret continued recruiting of other quarterbacks as a lack of commitment? Or did they not tell him with enough enthusiasm "you are the man"? Or did they just come out and say "we don't want you"?

Daddy's comment would seem to leave a lot of room for interpretation.

Probably since I created it. Difference there is, we KNEW what Grier was capable of. Corral has yet to play his first college down.

Seriously, I hope you're not going to try to compare the two. Grier just finished a lights-out season.

My question has more to do with this group’s ability (or lack thereof) to move on.

(From Gatorcountry recruiting board)

I know I just did one of these but, lots going on so I thought I’d go ahead and put it out there. Let me preface this by saying there are a lot of games being played right now. There has been a tremendous amount of turnover in the coaching ranks. Every staff is facing the same concerns. No one seems immune to it. So keep that in mind if some of the guys we all had going one place follow a coach to another it is going to happen. Some will be good and some will be bad.

Anthony Scwartz: will announce at the Under Armor All American Game. Prediction Auburn-but I could be wrong.

Iverson Clement: Honored with the Team Achievement Player of the Year Award. Good for Iverson. I don’t think we know how special this kid could be. Here is a linkhttp://www.burlingtoncountytimes.co...ed-with-team-achievement-player-of-year-award

Malik Heath: 4 * WR has stayed firm in his MSU commit thus far. Will not sign early but MSU is going to have a tough time keeping him in the fold IMO. He is getting it from all directions. Prediction UF-but I could be wrong.

Surtain Sr.: I don’t know if there is anything happening or not. Right now I’m leaning not. I have spent time on Cane Boards and Tiger Boards (I know, what a sacrifice) and it is not even a topic. If LSU had any idea this was a possibility their boards wouldl erupt. They are 100% convinced that Surtain Jr. is going to be a Tiger. On the Canes board-the same thing-nothing. I will say this; I would not be opposed to him being hired.

Two Commits: calling it now, two commits this weekend.

Early Signees: I expect 12 minimum to sign early for UF. That number could change and if it does it should go up.

Jerome Carvin: Cancelled his visit and will instead go to UT. He is a Tennessee native and cancelled after an in-home with new 15th choice UT coach Pruitt. I expect him to commit to UT this week end.

Noah Banks: 50/50 UF and Arkansas

NPF: still listed as UF 50/ ND 25/Bama 25, kid is so quiet who knows?

Chauncy Manac: the former UGA and current JC DL is considering UF.

Christian Meadows: is looking around and visited with UF/UM and with new fsu coach Taggert. UF would take him but I don’t expect it to happen.

Stephen Guidry: I expect the JC WR to keep his commitment to MSU.

Glenn Beal: The John Curtis HS, TE may or may not sign with UF but the LSU message boards don’t even mention him. I have increased my odds of him in the class but UT is going after him also.

UT: looks like they may flip an LSU OL commit as well. I laughed at the UT coach search and don’t think much of the hire but I will give them credit for somewhat salvaging this recruiting class.

UT part 2: Not everything is going well as both committed QBs withdrew their commitment. Martinez will now sign with Frost at Nebraska and Penix (Tampa Bay Tech HS) received and offer from FSU last weekend. Maybe if it’s a committable offer he ought to jump on it.

Quay Walker: In the GC mailbag said UF was still recruiting Walker. They may be but don’t get caught up in UF having a great shot here. A long shot at best.

Dorian Gerald: I heard he was offered by UF but see no movement by him with anyone right now. He is a former UT commit that went JC.

Jeremy Bell: UF is trying to get the speedster in for a visit this weekend. I don’t know much but I know this. 4.34 40, 36 inch vertical, 4.05 shuttle. BTW he plays corner. If he gets on a campus I like UF’s chances.

Eyabi Anoma: You may hear his name come up. He is a 4* DE from Maryland committed to Bama. Not sure why UF fans think he is a possibility. Unless?

Tommy Bush: 4* WR out of Texas. If he visits I’ll take note. He has at least expressed interest and if he visits who knows.

Miller and Houston: They are the most likely to rejoin the team although I expect at least 2 more of the CC fiasco to be given a 2nd chance.

Matty Ice: I get the angst concerning MC by some on the board. But let’s set some things straight. Ole Miss is a mess right now. They are scrambling to fill out a class. The new coach is loved in Oxford but outside of the city limits he is not a highly regarded recruiter. Matt can thrive in Mullins offense. Will he go somewhere else? I don’t know. 17 year old kids don’t always do what you think they should. That said, I expect him to come for his visit and sign next week.

Staff Hires: you should be pleased with the staff CDM is putting together. Very important DL hire coming up. Based on what I was told, it is a positive addition and could happen soon.

Cant be true, Mullen will run him off like he did Corral.

Here is my take on Corral. It doesn’t mater that he didn’t fit, it doesn’t mater if he didn’t have any other schools wanting him, and it doesn’t mater about his possible attitude issues. What maters is public perception. He’s a “5*”, others know it, and he’s not coming to Florida. Therefore we don’t get a highly recruited QB to commit, we look like crap, and we will not have others on the fence wanting to come either.

That's pathetic if that is true. However, on both his end and ours, if he doesn't fit the system then he should move on. And there's also no question that going to Ole Miss says a lot about the situation with Corral - there is something going on with him. Remember that 4-star OL that decommitted that strangely no one else wanted so he committed to Minnesota? Same kind of thing.

I think Mullen will land another top QB in this class.
No one believed me when I posted it before, but I read his Dad's comments as they were looking for the highest bidder which is the only way Ole Piss does business.

We won't know how significant of a loss this was for Mullen until we see the class and what QB's he able to bring in, but make no mistake, this was a significant loss perception-wise for DM. As usual we continue to be publicly humiliated with making a big deal about the in home visit and making sure everyone knows we have his last OV, only to have him cancel right before and flip to Mullen's biggest rival even though they are under sanctions.

Whoever's saying this was our decision not Corral's is out to lunch. This looks very bad for us, especially with the "more to come" spreading on twitter. If it was our decision we would have gone to the "mutual decision" line and not be left with our azz showing with everyone expecting Corral to be in G-Ville this weekend, like right now. It puts a negative vibe on the whole weekend that the other visiting recruits will obviously notice.

I wanted to keep him both because of talent and, as you say, because of the perception. But it has been questioned from day 1 whether or not he'd actually fit in DM's system. So as much as I do hate the idea of losing talented kids and further stalling the regaining of momentum, I don't think anyone will view this as anything other than him not being a fit here.

If we can land someone with comparable talent, without the baggage, I think it's a win. Him coming here, not having success, then transferring doesn't do either party any good.

Ellis knows his OSU news. My bet is they are talking behind closed doors. Jones does not seem sold on OSU at all

Remind me what’s Mullen’s fault? Literally 99% of the board cant stand you, except donkey who’s under the desk blowing you as we speak

I’m torn on this. I agree with the 99% comment but Law ain’t blowing anybody. I’m sure his style is to screw you for billable time.
