Could he be the next UF OB?

That crossed my mind, too. I recall someone posted an analysis comparing his HS completion percentage & other stats to Franks & Treon. Toney’s were better. He clearly makes reads & reacts extremely quickly and has the speed, strength and athleticism to make big plays.

However, his skill set is also the most likely on the roster to approximate Percy Harvin’s roles. I don’t know that he has the blinding speed but he is awfully fast on the field. And tough.

So glad he’s healed up well. The big jump & catch was impressive but so was the laughter. Happy for him.

At first I was thinking the same but Mullen's offense has usually required a QB who could pound the ball between the tackles a little so unless he changes that up a little I'd rather see us working to get the ball to Toney in the passing game maybe on 1st and 2nd downs with some quick slants and maybe WR screens. His quickness will prompt defenses to put another body on which ever side he lines up on because if he hits a crease he'll take some huge chunks of yardage. As he gets more experience at the WR position he could quickly make us forget all about Calloway....

Great find, thanks for posting. This kid has another dimension to be sure. There was only one Percy, but Toney is definitely special. I'm a Gator to the core, so I'm putting aside my initial "meh" attitude and embracing the Mullen hire. He should at least put the program back on solid ground and make us respectable again. After what the Goober who will go unnamed did to this program, leaving us a possible diamond in the rough like Toney constitutes some minor degree of atonement, I suppose. Mullen is leaps and bounds better than Clarabelle's Daddy, so hopefully guys like Toney and Cleveland will have a chance to show what they can do with some competent coaching, in a viable offensive scheme. All will be revealed in the fullness of time.
