The Sooners need to take care of business. Then next season we have to beat the leg humpers. I can't believe they signed a OL like they did.

He looked good on the field too as a fresh and soph. Remember the analysts calling him the 3rd best QB in the SEC in 2009.... then came Daz, the dive a thon and Brantley on the option.
He played really well against Kentucky in 09. We thought we were in good hands no matter what happened.

Kind of hard to keep a good tailor when you've lived in 8 places in 3 years.

Not sure what's the worse look for he and the noles...getting spurned by a QB who chooses Indi-freaking-ana, getting punked by a kid who mocks you with his flip to the gamecocks, or the fact that several commits basically told the world they're simply not sold on this guy and opted to hold off signing. Any way you slice it, there was tremendous egg on face in Tally. Love it for the noles and his fan club on here.

Yup slick Willie gonna have to win some games to get some future recruits attention in the next few years. I just don’t see it happening. He may be good at building a dumpster into a pretty trash receptacle, but he isn’t showing any ability to keep the jimbo shyte train on track so far.

http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsport...-trevon-grimes-to-take-leave-from-ohio-state/

On Monday, (back in October) Urban Meyer didn’t take part in his normal media briefing because he was in Florida as a family member of one of his players dealt with a significant health issue. Wednesday, a little additional information came to light.

Meyer confirmed yesterday that wide receiver Trevon Grimes is taking a leave of absencefrom the football team as the unidentified family member continues to deal with the unspecified health issue. The Buckeyes head coach said the sabbatical the freshman is taking is indefinite, although it’s thought that Grimes will return to the university in the spring.

Despite speculation that Grimes might transfer to Miami to be closer to the team, Meyer said he’s still on the team.

“I saw him. He’s doing great,” the coach said.

A four-star 2017 signee, Grimes was rated as the No. 6 receiver in the country; the No. 7 player at any position in the state of Florida; and the No. 41 player on 247Sports.com’s composite board. As a true freshman this season, Grimes has played in two games, catching three passes for 20 yards in that limited action.
He may or may not, I have no idea. But if Jones thinks he’s transferring and that we can pull him, I’m all for it. Kid is very good

I love it that Bama got sniped.

So he went from the west to our main competitor who already had one of the best classes in the nation, a team that currently has the upper hand on us? I'm having trouble seeing how I'm supposed to love this.

We had a solid day today, but we still have a long way to go. We need to build our LOS back up and we didn't sign a single DL player. I hope we can find some kids to fill this class, even if they are Plan B's. This staff is late to the game, so we'll need a few breaks.

The class Miss State signed is ranked 16th (so far, and will likely fall a bit after the Feb signing period). Mullen's best class at MSU was ranked 15th? Either he left the new guy a heck of a class or the new guy there did a great job (or both).

Judge Culpepper (6'4 260, WDE) signed w/ Penn State. Wish we had made a push for him. He could easily be a 290lb DE within a year or two.

Go through that top 100 Florida HS kids list (in the other thread). Amazing we missed on so many of them....and even more amazing how many went out of state (not just the IMG kids).

We've discussed this before, but until we can start signing the top HS kids from our own state it's going to take us a while to get back on top.

He is going to burn his bridges before they even get the first blueprints.

Obviously they’re burned to the ground at Oregon already

A good friend of mine who has a degree from FSU and a Masters from UF is a nole. We share the rivalry with pure animosity. It’s fun to trash them but miserable lately. I talked to him a while ago and he is apoplectic over Willie. He can believe the total failure today has brought them. He said he may soon despise taggert more than he does Helen Hunt when he left to take the UGA job. I may have a chance to flip his allegiance to UF...

I didn’t say I loved him going to Georgia. I said I loved him being sniped from Bama.

Enjoy for as many days as you wish. I looked at my post and stand by it. I think maybe the best thing is that Mullen took a big risk when he jettisoned Corral before he landed Jones and made it pay off
This class should keep us from dropping farther, but we've a long way to go to get back where we belong. Do you think we closed in on our principal rival, uga, this class?

No, but now you’re comparing a coach in his second year to a coach in his first month? I suppose DM should be expected to win the big jackpot with his first Lotto ticket?

Let’s hope CDM can close hard in February. Yes we’ve flipped a QB, albeit a good one, but let’s get back some decommits and maybe flip a few.
If he does then our recruiting will outpace our on field performance next year.... but in year two the shyte may get “real nice, Clark!”

Hopefully their 5 star OTs are just as disinterested in blocking as ours have been.
I’ll tell you right now that Cade Mays is beyond overrated. He won’t be able to push around SEC d-linemen like he does the tiny Knoxville players. Technique is HORRIBLE.

I agree DM has a lot of work to do. I just think this early signing period should be considered a success when considering he hasn’t even unpacked his luggage yet. And the hot mess he inherited...

Let’s see where we’re at after the first week of February.

I am talking about our recruiting class; you are talking about our coach. Apples and oranges.

Great post! Right on the money. Glad you are allowed to say these things. Apparently, some are begrudged such remarks.
