. He had a separated shoulder at one point. I don't think I read anything else serious.
I am really excited about this QB. I hope he starts game 1 next year.

Take this with a grain of salt, but a friend of mine in LaGrange has said he needs surgery on that shoulder as soon as he gets in college. Same type as Aaron Rogers had. Hopefully not the case.

Mehhhh... if he were hurt and Suckeyes knew it, Creyer would have blurted it out. He can't stand losing and would have offered an excuse directly or indirectly.

I also thought the clips I had seen were less impressive than I was expecting. Not that it wasn't good, but I expected more.

Then, I found this more comprehensive video of his junior year and see where the original 5* rating came from:

It says he missed 5 games. Anyone know the injury history?

Mostly shotgun, but enough under center snaps to make me not worry about changing it up during a series.

On the move after nearly every snap - no pocket, due to no OL or because he is just wired to be on the move?

Running reminds me of Jalen Hurts, effective when needed but not the primary part of the game. QB Highlights, so no sense of what threat the RB brings to the offense to free up the QB.

I saw a few mid-range throws. I was hoping it wasn't all deep bombs during defensive breakdowns. Not enough tape for me to have a feel on how he throws to WR on crossing routes or short throws - does he cannon them, or give them touch? does he lead the WR?

For the deeper throws where the DB was in the play, a lot of the balls appeared to be something an SEC DB would likely break up, possibly intercept. HS DB can't do that.

Overall, nice tape for a Jr. I'll watch the Sr. tape later.

Unless he's a real baller, you'd have to think he's setting himself up for a fair number of picks. I'm sure that's one of the first things the coaching staff will work with him on, .
All QB's have to make this adjustment when moving from HS ball to the college game imo. Some do like Danny, Leak and Rex, some never turn the corner like Doug Johnson or Driskel....Honestly I never remember TT forcing a lot of throws even with his natural size and strength....The only QB who I've ever seen in a Gator uniform who had it right out of the box is now wearing a Mountaineer uniform.....

I figure Jones needs to have his own thread. This is the first major offensive skill player in YEARS to spurn other huge programs for Florida. He may need a statue erected just for that.

Discuss.

Always worrying about your next erection?

I'm all in on Emory Jones. If he isn't a superstar by the time he's done, I'll be shocked. He seems to have all the tangibles and intangibles that you need to have a championship QB, and I think he is going to be a perfect fit for Mullen.

Dude, we are top 10 or near it in GPA and it's just the first signing period. It's also the best transition class we've ever had, but Jimbo leaving certainly helped.

Chillax. Believe me, if there is something to beyotch about, I'll lead the way.

 Haha!! I love you, man! You never fail to crack me up!

Mountain of pressure on this kid and he isn’t in a uniform. Let’s just welcome him to the program and hope he can find his way without all this expectation we have clouding our perception.

Some say he’s our starter in 2018. Let’s wait and see how well he grows into the regime of football, school, babes, credit cards, etc.

Seriously he’s a great addition. We need to let the staff develop him before we judge.

I hear ya. Trust me, I'm not expecting a lot of wins over the next 2 years. We are too weak, and have no depth at too many interior positions (but I do expect to see improvement as each season progresses - something we haven't seen in MANY YEARS). However, for a kid coming out of high school, I love what I see from Jones. Give him some good coaching, and a strong O line, and I think he's gonna be a star.

The O&B game should be fun this year, get to see which fish out of water QB already on the roster is running with the first team while Jones runs the second team in his element.

I’m interested to see how Franks responds.

Mullen offered him at MSU so he must have had some interest in him.
Franks got zero development here under Quiverlips and Dumpsterfire. We knew coming in he needed a year or two of development to be formidable. He has the talent so I’m excited to see if Mullen takes to him and develops him and uses him.

This article explains why Mullen let Corral go....sounds like it might have been a combination of Corral asking for a specific jersey number, and Emory displaying his confidence.....enjoy!
https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/f...y-jones-stood-dan-mullen-recruitment-process/

“When all is said and done, I’m your man, I’m going to help you win championships at Florida,” a text from Jones to Mullen said.

That text message arrived just four days before 4-star QB Matt Corral decommitted from Florida, the 247 report noted. Perhaps that’s why Mullen didn’t seem all that worried about it at the time.

“Just when you see a text like that, that’s what I want to see out of my quarterback, someone that has that confidence and that expectation, not worried about what jersey number or worried about a lot of the other stuff that goes on in recruiting,” Mullen said. “Someone who’s worried about coming in and doing what it takes to win.”

No more wishy washy QB decisions. Pick one and get him ready. Mac would pin ball these guys. Still hate that guy.
