Hate to break it to you, but even where there is actual Canon the heretics infect everything. And money. Money infects everything.

Disney only wants what they can sell as cannon, they have killed everything they could they would have to give money to someone else. Which would be the case with those books.

Those books are no longer Cannon since Disney took over.

They could and probably should be, after all they merged and these must have been authorized. Now they might have to pay to use the plots depending on the agreement the previous company had with the author.

They could make much better movies than this stuff.

Agreed they would be better movies, unfortunately Disney wants to be the only hand making the cash.

I wish they would have left out the stupid humor. Like Chewy and those bird things, and weak one liners, etc. I didn't think it was bad. I thought it was better than episodes 1-3.

Hamill did say he disagreed with pretty much everything about the direction of the film.

Oh please. Give me a break. (Not you, Hamill.) Mark Hamill would be pumping gas if he hadn’t lucked into playing Luke. He certainly never had anything to do with writing or developing the character. Luke became an icon despite him, not because of him. He hasn’t done anything worthwhile since until this trilogy drug him out of obscurity. (Even Will Wheaton and George Takei had more going on than him.)

Hollywood is NOW “all about the money”? Like they weren’t always? Good of him to utter that from his 40-year pile of royalties. Next thing you know he’ll start squawking about all the sex in Hollywood. Or how commercial ComiCon has become. And drugs! Did you know there are a lot of drugs in Hollywood?

And all the Star Wars geeks turned on George Lucas after Episode I. Now they want to rush back to him to validate heir latest whines?

I didn’t quite buy the internal meltdown of Luke being caused by that critical moment when he “almost” killed Ben Solo. More about Snoke’s seduction of him would have been good - except we’ve seen that with Luke and Vader.

But I like that Rey isn’t some Jedi royalty. She’s the Force’s rebalancing. Or maybe there’s a reveal coming. I like that the tale isn’t heading to another Death Star and that a ragtag group of survivors is the last hope. I like that she has the Jedi books with her. And I liked that Luke released himself to the Force like Yoda and Obi Wan did. His closing scenes were epic.

Nothing can match IV & V for me, but I’ve enjoyed these 2 and Rogue One.

I actually thought they were going to make Rey a grey Jedi that can use both side and is balanced but we will see.

As for Hamil the greatest achievement outside of Star Wars is either voicing the Joker or this guy

Mark Hamill was in the smash hit The Guyver in the 80's.

Mace Windu is was one, hence the purple light saber... don't know if that would make sense, because you need both light/dark.... without Snoke there was no need for Luke. Has to have balance.

I loved Rogue One. I thought it was 2nd best in the series with Empire being the best. I am looking forward to episode 9, which is being directed by Abrams.

Yeah. The theory was before Snoke and Luke were gone but with her going into that hole it has some thinking. I know I’ve read places where Qui Gonn May have been one as well since he had issues with the council on a lot of issues.

I think the death of Snoke was premature, but I'm wanting to see where they take it.

Didn't realize Abrams was back that is awesome. Despite the same basic plot line as 4 i thought 7 was still really good. Maybe he cam fix the mess Johnson created

Is Snoke actually dead? I was expecting him to end up being the first Jedi.

Yeah, the only decent one they've made in years.

Outside of the original trilogy, Rogue One was by far the best Star Wars film. And, as Sas mentioned, that scene at the end of Rogue One where Vader goes super bad-ass and kills rebels left and right was one of my favorite scenes in all the movies.

Just returned home from the theater. Had a hard time staying awake during conversation scenes. By the end, I was hoping this would be the last movie of the Star Wars saga but the plot obviously is primed for several more. I asked my wife, who enjoyed it, what she liked best about it. She said the little Puffin-like creatures. Thankfully we used free movie tickets the wife gets for donating blood platelets regularly. I'd have really been pissed wasting cash on this mediocre film.
