Years ago in the "big Dance" the losers in the final four had to play another game against each other. THIS was what Auburn had to play. This was the loser bowl for them. On the other hand UCF had everything to prove with a win. "See, we told you we were a great team." Auburn played some great teams. UCF played a very soft schedule in comparison. But this game proves that my proposal for a better playoff. Have the regular "historic" bowl games. THEN take the best four after that and playoff. Then a team like Aub, has an incentive beyond having to win a game they dont want to play.

And if my 8 team format (5 P5 + 3 at-large, one of which is the top G6) is in play, which I think you liked, UCF and Bama are in without question.

You're up to four now? You must've been one helluva student free agent.
Actually it's six total, now. But I didn't graduate from 3 of the 6.

Gus Malzahn is a pompous windbag who will probably be looking for a job after next season.
Even when he beats Saban he is is in 2ed place in Alabama. In the 2013 MNC game he spent his
time shouting to his players that "you are better than they are". Winston needed a little less than
2 minutes to prove that they weren't.

That's a brilliant idea! Makes the bowl games a lot more interesting and gives the teams incentive.
