With three days until Feb. 7’s National Signing Day, there are only two things that can happen with the 247Sports Crystal Ball. We’re either going to see drastic, pendulum-swinging movements on several recruits, or it’s just plain going to bust when some of these blue-chippers step to the podium with their commitments on Wednesday.

Let’s look at Top247 recruits that could still have major swings.

The forecasts on the Crystal Ball for No. 1 cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr. have been all LSU for much of the process but word out of Coral Gables this weekend as Miami takes its final swing at the five-star from Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage is that Surtain may be just as keen on Alabama.

Florida is the 247Sports Crystal Ball favorite for top-ranked offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere, commanding 64 percent of the forecasts. Obviously the in-state program checks many of the boxes for Petit-Frere but I still wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up at Notre Dame or Ohio State so a flurry of picks for one of those schools could be coming soon.

I've been wondering about SOS lately. I haven't seen or read about him interacting with recruits or players since Mullen & Co came to town. Where does he fit in with the new staff. What kind of relationship does he have with Dan Mullen?

Just to put together a current list of what it looks like, based on crystal balls and all of the Gator podcasts.

Done Deal

Watkins
McDowell

Better than 50/50

Copeland
Gerald
Boykin
Chatfield
Gouraige
Johnson

50/50

Lamar
NPF
Tannor

Wing and a prayer

Silvera

Out

Barnes
Montilus
Less than 48 hours till the fax machines light up. Anyone else a bit anxious? If we can close with 4 of the "better than 50/50" group and one of the "50/50" group I'd call that a win. 5 and 2 would be a freaking unbelievable close.

Well Spurrier has always hated recruiting. This time frame wouldn’t be his wheel house.

His involvement should be during the season. No coach was better at exploiting the weakness of a defense. Look at tape with him. And use his knowledge to game plan.

I know he hated recruiting, but he was chatting with the kids during their visits when mac was here. I hope DM can convince the HBC to meet with them long enough to say, “and here’s our trophy room. Have you heard the story that ends with ‘52-20’?”

Long live the Visor!

Huge news. NPF high school coach is pushing him to OSU for the sole reason of Schiano. Bs move in general, but this is huge for UF. down to uf-nd imho with Bama on the outside

AKA he will leave after signing day.

@BruceFeldmanCFB: Saw the report that Greg Schiano is leaving #OhioState for the #Patriots DC job. Am told Schiano hasn't decided whether he's leaving OSU yet. Brian Flores may get promoted to DC in New England. Schiano could have a job on the Pats staff w/ Belichick but still hasn't decided.

Yep. Dan is smart. He will sell it to him that he will leave now or next year. But hes trying to leave

per Spivey: Lovett is 6'4" 323.

I think 247 listed him at 285 or 295. If he’s gonna play inside, I hope he’s closer to 323. If we get Sivera (long shot, I know), do we still take Lovett? Unless scholly numbers are a problem, I say “yes.”

I knew I had seen him listed lighter.

Absolutely we take him....if the scholarship numbers allow. Big DL's don't grow on tree's! I'm not sure what the priority is, but as of now we don't have a DT/NG type committed. Silvera would be a huge, huge, huge get...but those odds seem slim. And if we want to go true 3-4 we need guys like Lovett.
