I was there in 87 (Warren Zevon and X - great show!) and the same guy was there, spouting what looked like milk from the top of his giant penis. Must've been a grad student to last from 77-87.

95 against Tennessee 62-37. Never felt we were out of it. But when it started raining we knew it was over.
97 vs FSU. Loudest game I've been to. Drunk as hell, first time meeting my future father in law
. That was the best college game he has ever been to; and he played college football. We still talk about it to this day.

Football memories - the third quarter cup fights in the student section stands. I actually still have a few of the larger 2$ ones. Practically unreadable today but they have sure held up! Wonder why they don't have those (the cup fights) anymore.
I won't call this a good memory but I was driving onto campus early oney evening and saw a thin dark column of smoke from a distance. Drove right by the Ratheskellar just as the first fire trucks were arriving.
I am trying to remember the name of a guy who was well known on the campus around that time and was jokingly referred to as being "17UF", he'd been around so long. Pete Self?

Best Gainesville memory was knowing all the eveving specials. Those giant margaritas at a Mexican place that didnt have a mexican name. Gatortail at Joe’s deli. The incredibly cheap beer at the porpoise. Leonardos pizza. Live music at Florida theater. The women.

That 95 UT rain game was epic! We had a party for every home game and we were handing out dry shirts when we got back to the house after that one. Partied long into the night.

I watched the Rathskellar burn, too. It seemed like flames wound up 20’ or more above the roofline.
And your memory appears spot-on. Look who I found. He lists being at UF 1972-86. The years have not been kind. #gandalf
