Was he worse than Zook? I doubt it.

We got really lucky w Creyer. The only other team bidding for him was the only D1a team that was even more cheapskate (then).
You dang right he was worse than zook.

We'll be having this discussion about stricklin in 3 years. Wich was worse, hiring mullen or putting 100 mil in baseball and softball? Sad, really. What a vicious cycle we're in.

Both. Foleys arrogance with not firing will in 13, trying to strong arm csu and caving and then saying facilities didn't matter, and meddling in the AD search shows how bad he let his ego get in the way. In 20 years we'll all look back at his last decade as what almost killed gator football. It was criminal.

It really pissed me off in 2014 when Foley announced he wasn’t using a consultant to help and that he was doing it himself. I had no faith in him to get it right. I tried to support Mac when he was hired but the dude never felt right. Weird personality.

Your biggest fear is not that Mullen will bomb. That won't happen. He's too good for that.

Your biggest fear is he finds his ceiling at 10 wins a year while Stricklin settles in for a long run as AD.

That's the question nobody has an answer for.

These guys are both mid-40s and salesmen. This could go on awhile.

Seemed he underachieved even by MSU standards and possibly the standards he created for doing such an amazing job there? Care to re-evaluate your comment?

That's some weak shyt. And you know it.
I could easily say the same about your reply. A month and a half ago, before you took smart pills, you backed the hire.

Face it. We're a bunch of guys sitting around a campfire, beers in our hands, talking about death and what happens.

Some are saying there is no afterlife. Poof, gone. Some insist they'll meet their maker. They have an entirely different outlook.

Nobody the f*ck knows for sure.

He took a team that was one of the top teams in the SEC west under Jackie Sherrill and went 33-39. Youre not some idiot 20 year old who doesn't remember them being one of the toughest outs in the west. Yeah, Sherrill hung around too long and sucked at the end of that run, but we saved Cousin Eddie from getting fired because he couldn't even beat a damn sub100 IQ Ole Miss coach who was on probation. Even Miss schools don't accept loses to U South Alabama.

Jackie Sherrill's career record at MSU was 75-75-2, and his SEC record was 43-59-1. All during an era of weak SEC West football. Your "champion" coach went to MSU and sucked ass!

Miss State, huh? The same Miss State whose former coach turned a perennial SEC West doormat into a consistent winner using those same bad facilities?

Oh, okay.
I'm sick of hearing this bull crap the man started the season every year with 4 cupcakes and had UK as his cross rival. That's 5 wins that should be in the bag before the season even starts. So to win 8 games they need to win 3 games out of Bama, Auburn, LSU, Arky, Ole Miss, A&M and whoever is from the East. I see Ole Miss, A&M, and Arky around the same as Miss St so it's not that hard to get to 8 wins. They had 8 wins in 2007 Miss St so it's not like it never had been done. Plus Miss St is still a doorstep they only finished in the top half of the West once under Mullen. Every other year he finished 4th or worse in the west that makes you a doorstep still.

I'm surprised at all the people saying Mcelwain over facilities. I think it's gotta be facilities because that's an ongoing problem. We got rid of the cancer at coach. We are still behind in facilities. No excuse for that when it comes to Foley. What a pathetic job. He ruined gator football for more than a decade with his poor decision making. I will say it was difficult for me to not say mcelwain though. He did almost as much damage as Foley did.

For the guys in this thread that are already totally sold on Mullen...when are you ever gonna learn? Can't we just wait and see on the guy? It's not a homerun hire. He has done almost everything right since being here. That's the only thing I'm impressed with so far. It's always gotta be "what have you done for me lately" here. It's UF. There's a standard. He has to prove himself all over again. What he did at Miss. St wasn't all that impressive.

Hiring muscrap was the beginning of it all...facilities and butters just kept piling the crap on. It all started with the inexplicable hiring of “boom”

Yep. I’ll also go “off the board” and pick muscrap. The hiring of a dwag was terrible. Hell, it’s commonplace now as we have another one as DC. F v c k ing Bull s h ! t. Mark my words....it won’t end well....

F v c k muscrap
