Byrne has been extended before, plus hasnt pitched much. Good call although I’d have Butler ready

With Indy, Brady and Kowar all getting tabbed in the first round of the draft last night, Gators also lose 4 of their 2018 recruits; 3 taken in the 1st round and 1 in the 2nd. That leaves Sully with 10 recruits from the 2018 class before today’s rounds. It will be interesting to how that goes. I’m sure they expected to lose the 1st day guys but today’s rounds will pretty much make or break this class. Of course they have to sign first but you know what I mean.

Very glad to see Girard produce. JJ who? :)

Jonah was the MVP of the regional!

Seriously, does this mean JJ will come back as the DH?

Well, our Gators gave us a scare but they’re moving on to the Super Regional (and Georgia and FSU are NOT!!!)
Something I noticed about the matchups for the Supers is that 6 SEC teams made it, but all of them are matched up against each other. The NCAA really hates the SEC. They didn’t match the Big 12, Pac 12 or ACC teams against each other, just the SEC. Hmmmm.....

Auburn vs. Florida
Duke vs. Texas Tech
South Carolina vs. Arkansas
Tennessee Tech vs. Texas
Washington vs. Cal State Fullerton
Vanderbilt vs. Mississippi State
Stetson vs. North Carolina
Minnesota vs. Oregon State

I agree it is great to see the SEC guaranteed three spots to Omaha, but why does the SEC need to play 4 or 5 games against the same opponents when that is not true of any other super matchup?

I'm glad you degenerates stayed up late enough to keep us posted on the game! I watched the Caps win vs. Vegas and went to sleep. The first game was frustrating. FAU has a good ball club (hell, so does Jacksonville). That was a tough regional w/ those two.

How about Stetson and Tenn Tech advancing? Good for them. Those guys probably play in front of 200 or so fans each game. Great experience for them.

It's BS they aligned 6 SEC teams to play each other. I know they want to limit the conferences, but why isn't Arkansas aligned w/ Texas? Or South Carolina aligned w/ North Carolina? They got Washington and Cal State aligned right. Oregon State got off easy too.

It seemed obvious the NCAA got tired of FSU bowing out of the Super Regional to UF for the past several years by putting FSU in a position to avoid UF till the CWS just so they can attempt to gift wrap a title that Mike Martin has yet to earn. Thanks Samford and Miss St.

I, too hate it when the SEC teams have to play each other in Supers. However, we have to keep in mind that Auburn wasn't the host seed in the Raleigh regional, nor was South Carolina, Vandy or Miss. St. If the higher seeds had won, Georgia would be hosting Texas Tech, Ole Miss would be hosting Texas and South Carolina, Vandy, Auburn & Miss. St. wouldn't even be there. Hard for the NCAA to predict that a #2 or #3 regional seed is going to win and they had to put the 10 SEC teams that were selected somewhere.

Good point, the super maybe the toughest matchup “on paper” moving foward. Two first round pitchers going at it Saturday at noon, huge advantage to the winner.

Go Gators
