We have to get the bats going and the defense shored up. Also, I am not seeing anything from Mize that makes him look unhittable. He seems to rely on people swinging at his pitches off the plate. Singer will be out by the end of the 5th at this rate.

Nice comeback by the offense in the bottom of the 3rd. Bell has 2 hits today 4-2. But Horvath has made outs twice with 2 outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd. Bullpen is going to have to be solid today, as Singer has thrown over 70 pitches after 3 innings.

Looks like both pens might be called into action early today. Singer’s pitch count is high and Aubie already has a guy in the pen. Extended bullpen sessions certainly favor the good guys.

It must be a Mizerable day. Gators are finally pulling it all together and we can hope that this will be a momentum swing for us from today forward.

Singer reminds me so much of Faedo the way he wants it so bad and just fights and battles. Great outing after a tough start. Auburn's defense fell apart to give us a couple more runs. 7-2 good guys going to the bottom of the 7th.

A great win, we absorbed their best pitcher, are up one game at home. Now let's get game two and go ahead. Lots of mistakes by both teams here, hitting batters is a mistake according to me as well as poor defense. Room for Gator improvements.

What felt like opening jitters then turned into a solid game. I’ll take that every game but then who wouldn’t.

I was grinding my teeth over Dalton but all’s well that ends well. Just don’t do it again. Nice job guys.

I know it's probably a sin to question Kevin O'Sullivan. However, with a 5 run lead I would have tried to let Butler and others in the pen close out this game and only bring Byrne to the mound if it got close. The way Kowar has lost 3 games in a row and has not pitched well at all of late, Byrne may be needed more tomorrow. And after throwing 27 pitches today how effective will he be and how long can he go if needed tomorrow? Great win regardless.

Considering how much bspn enjoyed slobbering all over mize during UF baseball games (do they not know their audience?), it’s an extra bonus that we pitched best vs best and Gators thoroughly CHOMPED the tiggers!

Agree with Byrne, would have like to not let Auburn even see him, but we up 1-0 and need to take 1 of next two. Butler barely saw the mound, we have tons of options.

Big Win, even without JJ. Hopefully this is the start of a special run

Is there a better combo than singer and byrne? Solid pitching. And who would have thought India goes 0 for 4 and still score 8. Go Gators!

Anybody else see the first base ump block the first baseman off the ball Dalton missed? Check out his football eligibility. He blocks better than our OL.

Nice win for the good guys and a better complete game overall after they settled down. Singer did not have his best stuff especially early but he battled. 72 pitches after 3 innings and even when he is not sharp it isn't due to him giving up hits. he digs his own holes. In the 1st on the comebacker I guess he tweaked his back but threw the ball away. next inning he walked the leadoff guy and then hit the next guy. I think he walked 1 or 2 more and hit another guy. He always hits 2 batters per game , LOL. I don't like giving teams extra outs potentially. But he was very good innings 4-6. I would not have gone to Byrne with a 5 run lead, but they did have 3,4,5 hitters coming up and I think Sully wanted a strike thrower in there.Plus Byrne does not throw hard, has a rubber arm and can pitch 3 days in a row. Not to mention Sully trusts no one in the pen other than Butler and Byrne. And I consider Mace and Leftwich co-starters that he would like to save for Monday. Dyson I feel is not an option even in relief.

Great day at plate for Liput, especially that leadoff single the opposite way. More of that please. Nelly 2 hits, Bell 2 hits, Reese 2 hits, all very rare. We were not great defensively, especially early. Felt Dalton and Horvath misplayed fly balls they should have gotten to. But thankfully Auburn spit the bit defensively and the throw that hit Dalton when he hung himself out to dry was huge.

Mize was not nearly as good as he was in his regualr season start here, but I credit the Gator hitters. The boys did not swing at a lot of his offspeed pitches off the plate for cheap strikes. That is how Mize makes his hay. But if you make him throw strikes, the guys proved he can be hit.

Now that the draft is over, hopefully Kowar will just go out and pitch. don;t worry about anything. Just pitch. Need a much improved effort from him tomorrow. A nice crowd today but still would have like to have seen 6K +, but if it ain't FSU or scrotUM, we are not going to draw flies!
