Jerg had a grand open house. To dinner he had all these Key Biscayne multi-millionaire big-wheels. We were enjoying dinner served on the patio on Jerg's self-designed glass table. One after another, they complemented Jerg on all his great designs. Silent but feeling pop-off pressure building, I threw my head back at the night sky and said "And I just love what you've done with those stars."
Glad to know you are living the good life, Rog. Even if only tangentially. I mean does anyone really need 3 yacht slots? I guess if you're having your rich friends over for supper, maybe. If that's the case though, how many helipads are required to be fair. Heck, we're not too far off from personal flying vehicles. You'll want your mansion to be ready for 2025.

Long past. Only one-week vacation visits. Not part of that in-crowd. Just married the Black Hammock Island sister of the supermodel sister who captured Jerg. Jerg bought the Apprentice franchise for Germany where Jerg played the Trump-part on TV.

Moved from the recruiting thread:

Wait, now I'm confused. Mullen is coaching MSU in that game? Or you meant we measure the quality of his coaching not on the performance of the team he's actually coaching, but for some reason the performance of the team he used to coach, even though they have a new staff?

See, that's called coaching. Meanwhile Mullen will keep giving Scarlett the majority of the limited carries the RB's have been getting.

The fact that MSU looks better on offense and defense without Mullenz and Grantham is either lost on most of you,or you actually try to spin it into a positive for Mullen.

It's pretty sad really. Not only are they not missing a beat, it looks like Dumping Mull-Ham is the best thing that ever happened to MSU.
He recruited most of those guys including Hill. He coached most of them. I watched their game against K-State and Fitzerald is still not a great passer and they still run the ball a lot. I really could not really tell the difference between the 2017 and 2018 version of the team except for Hill and Steven Guidry. Their offensive and defensive lines were both recruited and coached by Mullen. His teams were well coached and disciplined. Moorehead came into into a great situation (well it's still Miss State) whereas Mullen came into a disastrous situation.

Mullen was responsible for recruiting every player on every one of his teams since his 3rd year on. He lost 9 conference games his last 2 years just like he lost 9 his first 2 years. In other words he showed zero improvement despite having this same "great situation" that Moorehead inherited.

If MSU loses less that the usual 4 or 5 SEC games Mullen lost, it's not because of what a great coach Mullen is. He already showed repeatedly with his own recruits he couldn't do any better than that.

I'd trade Mullen for Moorehead today. With 9+ years of data we know what Mullen is, and it ain't pretty.

Let's see what Moorehead does this year before we anoint him a savior.
So they were 9-4 against the toughest division in football and we were 4-7. Yeah I think I'll take 9-4 every time.

Do you realize how you sound? Moorhead's success is because of Mullen while Mullen's misfortune is because of Mac. You are really trying to rationalize this whole thing, aren't you? I get it. I've dealt with your mindset for 8 years now and this is no different. It has to be everyone else but Mullen because if it's not...we're f ed and you don't want to believe that. I get it. That's fine.

We’ll fly Jerg in to fire Mullen in year 4 if necessary.

No one is really that into Moorhead. He is just on the long list of coordinators or HCs who arent known failures.

I now know that we should have hired Charlie Strong. Maybe we don't win national championships but he would not put up with what we saw against Kentucky.

He lost to Kansas at Texas tho. How do you explain that? Kansas has been one of the worst teams in CFB for a while now. I do think he would recruit better though despite being a poor in game coach in my opinion.

The thing that really bothers me at this 2-game point is that the "Relentless Effort" tag line of CDM wasn't followed by any Gator lineman in the KY game. I saw slow, lazy, lackadaisical play from both lines, and it looked like they didn't give a sh@t that they were blowing a chance to turn the game around. And.... they didn't.

This team showed absolute zero in coaching last Saturday. No fire, no drive, no pissed-off attitude and no willingness to engage and defeat KY one-on-one. On the sidelines the coaches went through the (slow) motions of... I don't know what. Coach Dan, you need to put the fear of God into these preferred players and get them to turn to, or this season is going right down the sh@tter.

It's too bad you have to do this Dan. If this group had an "Attack" mentality all this would take care of itself, but they don't seem to give a sh@t. Good Luck Dan

Maybe they misunderstood and thought it was "Relent, less effort!"

Texas was sui generis. The people that ran Texas didn't like Charlie kicking the behinds of their dear little snowflakes.
Charlie isn't a great in game coach, hence no national championships. But the Kentuckys of the world would not run up 300 yards on the ground. They would be glad to get 300 yards total offense. And if he got the right OC, well who knows.

He would also recruit much better in Florida than he did in Texas. If he is our hire in 2.5 years, after Charley has rehabilitated himself, I will be happier.

The HS coaches in Florida LOVE Charley Strong. He is everything Mullinz isn't as a recruiter.

Charlie is good enough to beat the piss out of Chimps of the world with 1/3 the talent.

The talent is pretty bad particularly at QB and OL. I fault DM for not bringing in a JUCO DT QB like Terry Wilson. Yes I know we tried to recruit him but he should have put more effort in him, used a bagman, etc. He would have been a terrific fit for DM's offense. Instead because he has done it in the past he thought he could rehabilitate Franks and Trask. I also fault him for not bringing in more JUCO OL. The arrogance of coaches thinking they can rehabilitate projects.
