 Saw this on the ticker today. Gee I wonder why so many of these morons are dead broke a few years after they stop playing.

That says so much about so many things. None of them good actually.

Dont be shocked if he gets his money. Especially if Boone (Mgr.) told him to hit the guy. Or if he was defending a teammate who had previously been plunked. C.C. will get his money. We may never hear about it but, he will get paid.
Go Gators!

From my understanding of baseball ethics, CC had an obligation to hit the batter. In 2 decades of watching baseball, I've only seen 2 guys refuse to do this. They got eviscerated by their teammates and the baseball media.

Trust me, he needed too. You don't ever leave a teammate out to dry like that. Especially in the big leagues. If the Yankees don't honor him for that then it's a bunch of B.S. Pitchers always had our backs at the plate and that is the way it is. His teammates will respect him even more now heading into the playoffs.

You really think the team will stiff him that money over this? It's bad PR if they do, no matter what the contract says. They don't want to look like dooshy cheap asses when it comes to attracting future free agents. He'll get the bonus, and I think they'll make a public announcement that they are just so everyone knows it and they can look magnanimous.

I feel about the Yankees about like I do the Dwags, so
FVKK THE YANKEES

And yes, he’s an idiot AND a moron. We hate them when it’s all about the money and yet this guy scoffs at pissing away half a mil, so yeah, I’ll “hate” him for that too. Damn, that’s life changing money for 99% of this country and he’s just giving us all the finger. I can’t afford to piss away $500 but this guy? Half a mil, no biggie. Smh at that. And this after HE had already started things by plunking a guy earlier in the game? And the night before they broke a guys foot? The “code” was even by that point. Go grab your crotch somewhere else you side hat wearing butt crack showing imbecile.

I'm pretty sure that CC is actually Forest Whitaker.

He doesn't need the money.

I'll admit on the surface this looks crazy. But, CC contract's have totaled over $200million since 2009. $10million for 2018 with $500K bonuses for reaching 155, 165, 175, 185, and 200 innings pitched (source Cot's Baseball Contracts). That $500K bought him a bunch of respect from his team mates --- read some of their comments to the press. CC said in interview afterwards that his team matters more than the money.
Crazy.....like a fox.
