Did I just watch the 2008 defense again?

Great job of making adjustments . Mullen and Grantham out coached big Joe Moorhead. I guess they really do miss Mullen now. The safety blitz was a thing of beauty and one of the best calls in a huge situation, that I have seen in a while. Two thirds of the DC's in the FBS would have played soft zone coverage . Not sure how the rest of the season plays out but we have a team and coaching staff with guts. Not sure we have the best talent, but sometimes guts ,and no quit, is enough.

When was the last time we contained a running QB? That has always been our kryptonite.
A one dimensional offense is much easier to beat.

Cowbell has looked terrible on offense since Shytzgerald came back off suspension. Their coach is in a tough position, bench the senior or torpedo the year.

Ah, another dumper crapping all over the win. Were you upset by this win like the Donkey was?

There’s a huge cavern between enjoying this win and comparing it to arguably the greatest defense in UF history. We’re all enjoying this win and the growth this defense has shown despite the injuries and bs suspensions

Are you really this dumb? I wasn't literally comparing it to 2008. How many times can I make this point?

Read the threads before commenting, fellas.

You’re right the thread title was really misleading. For a guy trying to peddle his website and worthless swag you sure do love to try and curtail posting

Grantham was seen doing the chomp on the sidelines. Does that make up for the throat slash? Come on, the guy is a huge improvement over Shannon and Sidehat. I know he is still not the best but he is ours now.

I will say this in the ist half it looked like this was going to end up being a rerun of the UK game with Fitzgerald taking huge chunks of yardage seeming at will the way UK's QB and Snell did. At least the defensive staff learned enough from that game to make small changes. That certainly beats ANY thing we saw last year.

This defense has some weaknesses that will be exploited by some of the better teams we play later on but that is how you learn and build for the future. We need a little more depth at line and a little more size at LB(I saw Reese get swallowed up a lot last night). We've also got some coverage issues but I think those will be fewer over time with more game reps for everyone. Williams is a gamer for sure and needs to be on the field a little more.
In short they ain't there yet but at least they're making small improvements in every game and I see a little higher ceiling for them than I did in the pre season or first 3 games. We really need to see them play a complete team(one that throws as well as runs). With LSU, Mizzou, and UGA coming up we'll find out how they do.
