I like seeing the steady improvement with the running game. That should take pressure off FF eventually open up the passing game.

I missed the first half, so I can't analyze too much. However, I kinda expected us to lose this game. Vandy always plays us tough, classic trap game after last week's upset win, and these kids are young and don't have a lot of experience winning. However, it was awesome to see them play with grit and come from behind. There's no doubt that we would've lost that game under Muschump and Butters. I'm glad that we finally have a team that plays with pride and refuses to lose again.

How many years has it been since we felt we could actually make a drive and score points when we needed to?

577 total yards
284 passing
292 rushing

92 plays
31 first downs

13/19 on 3rd down
3/3 on 4th down

Discuss.

Wooooohooooo! I had such confidence we would score big in the second half. Been a long time since I felt that way!

92 plays and we were -3 on turnovers for almost the entire game. Incredible.

Gators averaging 34 points a game before today. 44th nationally. They showed this stat at the start of the game. In '08 We averaged 36 a game which was 8th nationally.
My mind is blown that we ran 92 plays. That's incredible. The offense line played well at times. Very balanced offense.

We only averaged 36 a game in ‘08? Doesn’t sound right

This is with a roster that was 4-8 last year. Thats both an indictment on butters and a compliment to Dan. We navigated a minefield. Just look at how the othet coaches are doing
I know a lot of us wanted Chip Kelly at the beginning because his brilliant no offense of mine but for me I always questioned whether he would have his heart in Gainesville or not. That was not a question I had of Dan Mullen. He knows what it's like to be in Gainesville and live there. Chip just did not want to do it. Kelly would have been much better off coming to Gainesville but he did not want to deal with the toughness of the SEC and having to make changes in his life he wanted the West Coast he got it.

As others have mentioned it is amazing what they're doing with a four and eight roster. Credit to the coaches and players.

When do we as fans stop talking about the Coaches that didn't want us and simply start supporting the Coach that chose to be a Gator?

Not to mention, Dan is one helluva game-day Coach.

Two things:
-Amazingly reduced number of injuries at Game 7 compared to years past. Go Savage!
-We are improving week to week. We haven’t seen that steady upward trend in many years. That’s coaching!

If Butters was coach we would have lost like 35-9 it’s nice seeing some explosive plays and a team that doesn’t quit when they get down by multiple possessions! I know it’s just Vandy but the way our guys fight is just great to see after watching Chump and McElStain football since 2011!

Right - coaches did not abandon our game plan/strengths, even down 18 - we trusted our talent and stamina would win out after four quarters (if we would stop handing them the ball) - kept grinding and sped by them in the second half.

It was glorious.

The difference in injuries is mind blowing.

This team makes its share of mistakes, but they have 4 full quarters of fight in them. They just keep finding new ways to make me proud of them.

And the development of the offense in particular has been impressive over the past few weeks.

Other than it being Vandy, it is nice to see the offensive output. I just wish we would t pucker inside the 10 yard line.
Vandy has a decent defense. Nothing spectacular but decent but I certainly get your drift. The play calling inside the 10 is sometimes weird for sure.

We finished 12/19 on 3rd down, which is incredible when you consider we started the game 1/5. So we converted 11 of our last 14 3rd downs, and one of those misses was at the end of the game when we were just chewing up the clock. Impressive.

If you would have told me we'd be 6-1 at this point and bowl eligible going into the Bye week before the Leg Humpers....I would have said you're crazy and I'll take it.

This is just flat out coaching, getting your team to buy in, and players that have been taught "not to flinch". There will be a day that this team does get its knock out punch. But at this point there will be fewer of those than more of what we had under MacNussChump.

Offensively what we are seeing is what we've been asking for. A watchable product that is fun to see. Love what they are doing and it comes down to coaching. I have always said that Mullen was a huge part of the success with Meyer at BG, Utah, UF. He has done wonders with a Head Case QB and a team that was 4-8.
