Sure I get we shouldn’t be thinking championships yet. But pump the brakes? In my opinion we should do the exact opposite as GatorNation. Go all in....go crazy...sell out every game....deafening noise....pump these kids up....get behind the coaches. In other words create the most exciting, pumped up environment possible.

We can still come on here and break down games and strategies. Hell we get great analysis every week which rivals anything we could find anywhere else. Analysis that is fair, reasoned and balanced.

My message would be get your foot off the brakes completely and slam the pedal to the metal.

I think Grantham is a lunatic and the players respond to it. I think he gets them all fired up. I wouldn't change anything.

Brother you fool your friends and I'll fool mine...Let's not fool eachother.

You know this team under MusChump and/or Butters MacShark WOULD HAVE FOLDED like a deck of cards in both the UK and the Vandy Game. After the UK game as the Clowns from the Sun proclaimed, our season would have been over!

To your point, we did fold like a deck of cards to UK, and sure as schit looked like Vandy folded too when their coach got out of control. I like the attitude Mullen is bring, but the point of your post that I responded too you aren't addressing. Who have we player other than LSU had equal or better talent than our team?

We did not fold to UK we came back to within 8. We did not lay down after terrible first half play and awful Refs.

As for LSU, MSU was picked to tap dance on our head...

And I said, "Coach O has these boys playing ball".

Dude, we are not saying bring on Bama. We are saying, this team was not that good talent wise BUT Mullen has them ready.

Vandy in the second half was a good game offensively, how many drives have stalled out this season before they can get started before the second half/previous games. Like I said, I like what I'm seeing, but we really have played one good team. Kentucky beat us like a red headed step child, and they might be a good team when it is all said and done, and LSU was a solid/great win. People acting we are going to be winning championships.
Not at all, at least me. I still think it's very possible to lose a couple more games before the end of the season but this team has shown small step by step progression over the last 5 games....When was the last time we could say that? For the last 8 years we would put up a pretty decent game one week then look like a Laurel & Hardy routine the very next.

Now I agree that we still have some severe limitations going forward on both sides of the ball but I believe our coaches are doing a pretty damned good job of coaching around them. Will we hit a wall with the talent level we currently have? More than likely if you ask me but I thought we would struggle to get to a bowl this year.

I thought with this schedule we should have 9 wins. I like what the coaching staff has done, but they also haven't shown us anything that we didn't see from their previous stops other than attitude. Which is huge. I'm expecting a roller coaster ride game to game, half to half. Too many moving parts learning the system. Progress to be sure from week to week, but the real tests of our season their year are LSU and UGA with the way FSU is playing. LSU did better than expected, and we will see in two weeks if we are up to the only team with similar or better talent in our division.

Attitude AND S&C. Face it our Talent is very thin BUT that is what is so awesome. I don't think they know it?

Well, yes, I do expect we will win. 5 weeks of adapt and overcome 1001 adversities, of which we all are witnesses, is/are/am 5x5 Lima Charlie to me. My confidence meter is pegged.

DM is crystal clear on the blood-stained, century old magnitude of this game.

This one is gonna be FUN!N!N!N!

How many teams with lesser talent kicked our asses the last 5 years?

First Ox, thanks for actually reading, apparently we have some issues with that.

2015 loses LSU, FSU, Alabama, Michigan... only one of those with lesser talent might have been Michigan (debated looking at their NFL draft classes)
2016 loses Arkansas, Tennesse, FSU, and Alabama … Arkansas had obviously lesser talent...
2017 loses Michigan, LSU, T A&M, UGA, Missouri, SC, FSU... So Missouri, SC, and borderline T A&M.

my expectations were high after he took Miss State up 100 defensive spots in a single year. He’s done very well. The young safeties lost the Kentucky game (well, the defenses part), but they have improved since then and you aren’t going to get Reggie Nelson in SEC start 1 from most people. I think he has had the best halftime adjustments of any of our coaches so far this year.

2018...MSU - more talent and a deeper bench, LSU - more talent, UK - equal to slightly less talent. (Awful Refs)

What’s your point?

Don’t tell me you picked us to beat LSU and MSU before the Season started. And we were supposedly equal to Tennessee.

CAN YOU NOT ENJOY THIS?

Not to mention a FG called bad that was good by 3 feet.

Mississippi state, LSU and Vanderbilt converted only 9 out of 41 third downs combined in the last 3 games, for a conversion rate of 22%. I thought that was an eye popping stat. Can we finally put this to rest?
No. All 3 have terrible QBs. 3rd and Grantham is based on years of data at multiple schools

Very true. Stats are dangerous things. You are right that the lack of conversions might mean that the other team doesn't even get to third down. However, a stat showing a bunch of missed conversions does mean that they stalled and punted a lot.

Similarly, if we were discussing the lack of passing production, somebody could point out that technically the 1-foot forward toss to the slot receiver on a jet sweep that went for 99 yards was in fact recorded as a pass, but it obviously wouldn't be relevant to the discussion of forward passing woes.
Very true indeed. This defense has been good as a whole. If they can get the explosive plays a little more under control, they could be great. That 75 yard TD, for example, I realize it was a blitz but you should have some provision in there for a screen, you would think, and yet there was nobody in the vicinity.
