UCF's road to a Jan 1 bowl game isn't exactly easy. They still have Cincy and USF (plus Navy and an improving Temple), then would need to beat likely opponent Houston in the AAC Championship, which ain't gonna be easy.
Working on their side is the regular season games are at home in that dump stadium with the exception of USF in Tampa.

For bowl selection committee it doesn't look that strong, but it will definitely challenge them.

I'd like to play them, but bowl games are different animals.

1. We have a number of players looking at NFL careers. I'll guarantee their heads won't be in it like the regular season.

2. If UCF goes undefeated and gets passed over for the playoffs again, this will be their championship. They'll be looking to send a message. Can our guys match their level of intensity? I doubt it.

3. How does Mullen prep for the game? Many coaches treat bowl games differently. They use the time to prep for next season and don't game plan the way they do regular season games. For example, freshman getting a ton of practice time that they didn't get during the season. Mac did this. So does Jimbo. Some coaches use it as a vacation and don't care at all. Some coaches take it seriously.

Florida will win 10. Ohio State will win 10. Any bowl worth it's salt will want that. Just sayin'.

Michigan won’t beat pOSU.

Why are the talking heads all of a sudden thinking they’re world beaters?

Penn St. is not very good. Michigan's defense is ridiculous and their offense is good enough to get the job done with that defense.

Does Mullen look like the type to take the Fiesta bowl as vacation time? Hell no. That will be his biggest bowl as a coach, aside from the Orange bowl in 2014. He's going to want to win it.

Most coaches don't treat bowls like vacations. Most from big time programs aren't like Harbaugh either, who treats them seriously. Most are somewhere in the middle. That's just a fact. Why do you think more and more players are deciding not to play in those shyte games? Instead, they are choosing to leave the team and prepare for the draft? They don't mean anything to a large program. The players and coaches know it.

They mean more practice time. That is the biggest impact to the team. How the coaches use those practices are up to them. Some take advantage, some not as much.

UF vs. UCF, I can hadle that.

But a UF vs. pOSU in the Nexium/Husquvarna Weedwacker Discount Cigarrette & Tobacco Reflux Bowl would be a helluva matchup.

Maybe....only this is Mullens first stop at a big time program. I'd bet my house he's going to take it more serious than most if they land in a New Years 6 bowl, which the Fiesta is.
As for the players, some won't be up for it. Some will. As a matter of fact, the UCF players of last year have been in a bigger bowl than any of the UF players. Who's to say who will be more hungry.

UCF will get a loss and fall into a belk bowl level game where they belong, we'll probably end up in one of the usual bowls against a big10 team.

I wonder how many hundred UCF fans would show up.
