One more year? Not a fugging chance. This scrap heap doesn’t get cleaned up in year two. This administration is easily in for 5 years with Mullen. What is it with this Mullen sucks, Grantham sucks echo chamber? What these coaches have done with this group of Butters specials is almost miraculous. Are the pumpers afraid of the inevitable facepalms and dislikes from the dumpers?
Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I'm not saying one more year, as in, he'll be fired after next year. I'm just saying that the losses are his. Firing a coach after 2 years is ridiculous.

5 years? Lol. That's funny stuff there. Nothing is guaranteed. Heard the same stupid shyte about Butters. You get only what you earn. Mullen would need some major wins. If he doesn't win the East by year 4 he wont see a 5th season. I feel that seems like a pretty low bar...probably year 3 he needs to win the East. If not, he can kick rocks.

Apologize for the misread. I thought it sounded too ridiculous to be true.

I’m not sure Stricklin and Fuchs are on the same page as you. I’ve expounded my possibly BS theory in a thread a few month ago asking if the joke on us?

Is the joke on us? Do we care more about Gator Football than Fuchs and Stricklin?

Every new coach is the love of the AD's life and is "gonna be here for 5 or 6 years" then fvkks up and gets fired in 3.

Grantham isn't the love of anyone's life.

Paul Johnson is doing fine at GT, another school that values academics over athletics.

Benefits of DJ Durkin:
He’s a good coach.
He’s an excellent recruiter/salesman.
He can be acquired for cheap.
He will stick around for Years since it will be a long while before he is offered another head coach gig.
He knows UF, SEC, Florida Football.
Put him on staff. There’s no downside.

Bring him back as an asst asap. Grantham will need to be replaced soon enough.
After the allegations against him out of Maryland, don't you think bringing him in might have a negative effect on recruiting, particularly with regard to potential recruits' parents being concerned about their kids' safety and well-being?

This thread has gone total retard. Lest anyone forget Grantham is dealing with two bad hands, the one that Mac left him and the one that injury fate has put on him this season.

Geez, he was our little darling three weeks ago before every single corner got hurt and the safeties went brain dead.

I think they are totally full of shyt and just some brown power snowflakes demanding to fire the white guy in charge.

This death occurring after training sessions during a period when Durkin wasnt even allowed to have contact w players. He is as liable as SOS was with Eraste's death.

Grantham is a dwag and he is doing exactly what he has always done.

3rd and Grantham was a thing LONG before UF.
Chill the eff out, man. In spite of UGA and Mizzou, we're still doing a better job stopping people than scoring.

38th in total defense and somewhere in the 80s on offense.

I dont tolerate Dwags. Its a simple rule all Gators. All Gators should know it and follow it without question.

Moreover we desperately need recruiters if we dont want this coach fired in 3 years too with an even worse roster left than Butters.

It is a no brainer.

I think this would be the prevailing sentiment amongst the powers that be.
Which powers that be have you been talking with?

Why would our powers that be speak with a Null troll?

DJ will get hired by Urban this winter if Urban doesnt quit.

Totally agree with the second graph. Everyone needs to pull his weight.

We could use a stud recruiter and a new DC.
Hell I'd take him as a LB coach....it's not like we have one now anyway. If I'm not mistaken he was brought in here as a LB and ST coach anyway and coached a few studs like Bostic, Jenkins and McCray and was key in the development of Jarrad Davis...

How do you think Durkin would do with our Sunbelt LBs and Safeties?

There a lot to be said for continuity. All we have had for decades is a revolving door of DCs.

Granthem also carries around a lot of baggage. He ain't all that nice.

This is the case I laid out when it first broke that he was fired. Coaches make mistakes--even egregious ones--all the time, and get some type of second chance, albeit at a much smaller position. He clearly made some mistakes and will have to pay. But acting as if he could never be touched again is too far, imo. Again, his skillset is still the same, and happens to be one we're lacking.

I don't think Grantham is performing that bad given his hand, and don't see him going anywhere in the near future. But it's also unlikely he remains forever. So why not have a backup(step-up) already on staff for when that happens. I think Itraz made a great point that he could come in and coach safeties, which would be a low-level, hardly mentioned position where he could spend a few years rehabbing his image. I don't see a down-side either.
