Yesterday was my first time going to a game in Tallahassee and man what a ****hole doak cambell is. I've been in high school stadiums that were designed and built better. As soon as you enter the stadium you have no idea where to go, very few signs and you have to dodge beams and poles to get around. Asked a stadium worker what gate I needed to enter because I didn't see a gate number on my ticket. He looked at it and swear to god he said "I don't know why the put all those numbers and letters on there they don't mean anything, just go in any gate and look for section 11 or 12". The concession stands were complete jokes, halfway through the first quarter they were out of everything but popcorn, cotton candy and coke. Now I understand why you guys always make fun of it.
I would rather sit in my own shyt for four hours than be in Doak.

Now that SAS painted me that picture, I see lots of holes in that FSU winning talent theory.

2018: FSU most penalized team. 2017: Oregen was the second most penalized team. And the most penalized team in 2017 was? USF. All teams share one trait. They all had players "coached" by Taggart at some point recently.

Taggart's such a poor "teacher" his talents have to lunge, grasp & hold.
Big top can't cover this big flop.

People aren't going to want to hear this, but Franks not only will be coming back, he'll be going into the spring with the edge. It's up to Emory Jones to unseat him.

If Mullen can somehow increase Franks' awareness of the field and minimize the indecisiveness that comes with it, he could turn him into a very, very good quarterback.

I'm not betting on it happening. I think he's cooked in terms of that.
I've been thinking the same thing over the past few games. He's not a pretty runner, but he's showing to be a "willing runner". He's gaining competence in the throws and runs. Also starting to look more like a "big boy" runner...not afraid of getting hit OR HITTING SOMEONE.

He's not going to pass for 400 yds a game, nor is he consistently gonna run for 100/game. But if his skills/abilities and the gameplan can get us 250 yds passing and 40 yds rushing per game out of him it's a really good fit.

He's starting to "feel" the R/O at the line of scrimmage at the snap.

As for FassU, I don't see how they're gonna improve under WT. He's shown the same tendencies everywhere he's gone and has the overall W/L record to prove it. He'll hold together a decent class this year (based mostly on telling his cruits that "it's a work in progress" and that they "have to weed out the guys who don't want to buy in"). But by Year 2 it'll be abundantly clear that his previous second year improvements were smoking mirrors. I don't care who he hires. It's a philosophy and system thing, and neither one of his will work for long at the P5 level.

He didnt have second year improvements at his previous jobs. He had a fourth year improvement only at South Fl, which was basically a very lucky QB recruitment and a powder puff schedule.

During the course of his 5-7 season, Taggart's demeanor has changed considerably...

...His alter ego, it would seem, has also changed from Urkel to Uncle Woody.

But... but... barrel races at practice!
And dancing! And a rose-colored purse to wear at games!

A little Mick video...not related to thread title...

Pretty cool video. I was at most of those and the LSU goal line stand is the only one I’m not sure if I was watching or listening. Or maybe I watching but had my eyes covered so was only listening.

There was an older fsu fan sitting directly in front of me and he even called it the erector set. He said until sometime in the early to mid 90's they remodeled the stadium and put the brick all around it. He said before they did that you could stand outside the stadium and watch the game, he said if you looked at the right angle you could see tailgaters on the other side as well. He must have been a pastor or something because I talked ungodly amounts of **** to him and he took it like a champ, if the roles were reversed, him or I one would have left the stadium sore.

I know the architect who designed the remodel addition. I believe he probably thought it was like putting lipstick on a pig.

On Rivals, some noles were railing against WT because of this. Apparently he stuck with Francois, rather than going to Blackmon, to set up next year as a final hoorah with a Sr QB. The agreement was that he wouldn’t bolt and force them to retool again n ‘19.

Guess that’s moot.

Undisciplined and lack of effort were two adjectives announcer Greg McElroy used repeatedly to describe the Florida State football team. It was telling when he said FSU needed to recruit some players who love playing the game of football. FSU was lacking in all departments.

The devolution of football player names. Why certain memories remain with us is a mystery. Art Donovan was a defensive lineman for the Baltimore Colts way back in the 60s. Donovan was from the the Bronx and played for Boston College. He was old school. Tough as nails. Played in the days of the minimal face guard of just one bar across the face. Spitting out broken teeth. You get the picture. He was on one of the late night shows, Johnny Carson or some such fare, and was talking about how football players used to have really tough sounding names like Bronko Nagurski. He then mentioned that players of his day had rather sissified names like Gary Collins. Collins was a star wide receiver out of the University of Maryland who was an All-Pro with the Cleveland Browns. Every time I heard the name of Deondre Francois this anecdote kept popping into my head. Bronco Nagurski. Gary Collins, Deondre Francois.

And another thing I've noticed is the plethora of hyphenated last names on the backs of current college football players jerseys. I used to think that hyphenated last names were reserved for radical feminists. I guess we are evolving as a society. I guess. The devolution of football players names. Heaven help us.
