He has more PED suspensions than conference championships, bowl games played, and trips to the Heisman ceremony combined.

First round pick = at least $10 million (probably closer to $15mil) > meaningless bowl game. Why risk it? You would do the same thing.

Can't really blame him or anyone in his position. I'd probably do the same thing. Just shows how insignificant bowl games are anymore.

I get it. You dont wanna get injured, but this stuff ticks me off. Show some loyalty to your teammates, fans, and school. Especially Grier who was rescued by WVU.

I guess no free camping stuff for Will...

Quote of the year from Holgorsen.

"Will's commitment and service to WVA football over the last three years will be talked about for many years."

Dude, you just got rear ended.

I'm officially off the Grier train. Let the likes flow.

Andy Staples was on Finebaum a few days ago discussing bowl skipping. He felt that it will be the norm for the clear 1st rounders to skip a bowl game, but the 2nd rounders back will want to play so they can impress the scouts.

It will be their last chance to put good work on tape and get the 1st round $$$

Seems to me that the bowl game would be another opportunity to put up a solid performance to boost draft stock. Maybe he feels like he’s proven enough?

I think there’s plenty of film at this point.

As a college football fan I don’t like this, but I understand it.

We were discussing this in the chat box. It’s only a matter of time before a star skips a non-meaningless game, like a playoff or NC game. Then you’ll see some fireworks.

That would stink big time. T keep this from happening in the playoffs, schools and/or the NCAA are probably going to have to provide some guarantees to players that payoff in the event of injury.

Mixed feelings. I get the kid’s decision.

It’s a violent game, one play can change his career.

Maybe the bowls that make all the money should start paying for a big insurance policy for any projected draft pick if they play in the game. Helps their ratings, and puts some of the responsibility on the fat cats making money off the students.
