After watching Milton have his career end in a split second, can you blame the guy?

Why didn't he skip the final game of the season in fear of being hurt?
:exactly:

this has been my point all along, when does it end? when is it "too much", who decides what is too much, and how is too much enforced? its not, wont, and cant be. why even play the game?

West Virginia will take anyone who they think helps them win regardless of grades or character. Grier was always a hired gun, so I don’t feel the least bit sorry for the school. Reap what you sow and all that. On the other hand, he’s letting his teammates down. I don’t entirely buy the injury argument. Call up Lloyd’s of London and take out a one game policy that protects you against the unlikely event of career altering injury, and then man up. Show your teammates and potential NFL suitors that you give a **** about them and the game.

Back in 2016, it was a huge controversy when LSU running back Leonard Fournette, Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey and Derwin James after declaring for the NFL draft, decided to skip their team’s bowl game.

itll be interesting. sooner or later a player in the final 4 will skip for the same reason, hell bosa from osu sat out since mid season after injury

Unless you make the playoffs who cares...these are meaningless bowl games. It was bound to happen with playoffs. Why risk it

Bosa was done for the year...the controversy with him is he completely left the team instead of hanging around. His season was done

I think there’s plenty of film at this point.

As a college football fan I don’t like this, but I understand it.

We were discussing this in the chat box. It’s only a matter of time before a star skips a non-meaningless game, like a playoff or NC game. Then you’ll see some fireworks.

Isn’t that what Bosa did?

So bowl season is meaningless with four teams after all. Let's go eight teams and at least make the end of the season tournament more entertaining. Not to mention fewer guys taking games off to prep for the NFL.

well I suppose as long as it's just a business, we need to give the kids contracts and pay them salaries.

Grab the cash. WVU won’t remember Grier if he blows a knee on the bowl.

and if that's the case, then just like when a coach walks and has to pay a buyout or whatever else is reqd in his contract, maybe those kids should deal with some type of fiduciary penalty for walking before business is complete.
