I think we'll flip some high-rated recruits late based on the positive trajectory of the program. It's almost inevitable. But that's not how I would prefer to conduct business on a regular basis.

Mullen needs to figure it out.

We might even pull in a 5* or two. But even so a 7-10 class is the absolute bottom of where we should be. Now that UGAy tearing it up we have to have top 5 classes. And while there are some valid excuses (facilities, recent suckaitude) a great recruiting staff would be getting it done. Kirby "4th and dumb" Smart hit the ground running. Granted they had a (humping) leg up on us but I don't want to hear that it takes time. If they can do it we can do it. I really hope to see some coaching replacements this off season but I doubt it happens.

Yup we need to be top 7 to think about having a shot. I think we've got the QB recruits to push a top 7 talent team into a contender.

We really shouldn't have to struggle to bring in anywhere below say a number 10-12 class and I don't really see any valid arguments for anything less. Now I would be very forgiving of say a 10-12 class IF and only if we stockpile a mother lode of LOS players, 10 or more, that come in around 300# plus. I say this due to the fact that OG's and NT types typically don't carry the same star ratings as the skill position players.

On the other hand I wouldn't be happy with a 10-12 class that got that number due to late cycle filler made up of 3 star DB's, LB/DE types. In summary we have a very good base of skill position players, RB's and WR's.....the future in my eyes is built in big bodies.

It appears we have 6 OL all 290 and over. Which is nice. Only 1 DT but he is over 300. We a few more in my opinion.

There really hasn't been any arguments other than the Donkey arguing with himself. He keeps saying over and over that 10-20 ranked classes won't get us titles. I haven't seen a single person that disagrees with that. He keeps saying we need top 5 classes to get back on top. I haven't seen a single person disagree with that.

I guess you’re missing the part where people think we will have a top 10 class even though all signs point to us not.

If we get a huge haul on ESD then great, but only pumpers think that will happen because either they are blindly faithful or believe every little rumor.

I think we’ll close ok, but do you really expect us to land two or more 5* kids? I think we’ll be fortunate to land one.

We’ll have a better class than Butters, but I don’t think we’ll get the quality we need for down the road.

We should not be ranked in the 20’s right now.

There's nothing wrong with people being optimistic. Mullen has actually given us some optimism for the first time in years. Why do some feel the need to go out of their way to crush every sliver of optimism?
