In most cases, yes. However, they can carry more meaning when you're rebuilding your brand.

There's a good bit of building going on preparing for an extended season Bowl game.
That improvement can occur in players & in coaches.
A good bowl performance-win, just might grab a latent recruit, a flip.?
Mostly, this bowl game gives GatorNation one more inspection of what's coming next year.

With all the 'giddy-yap' that Michigan folks are putting out, I can just see Mullen intently staring at UM defense game-film in a dismantling way, hours unending.

Toney might be the secret weapon, if utilized more & multi-facetly.
IDK, but Jacob Copeland showed some Percy-like speed that made tacklers look like in slow-motion. Let this bowl game be his coming out party - at least 7 touches. Slam them with Scarlett, Perrine & Pierce - tire UM tacklers out.
Insert Clement for rested speed, if he practices super. Use Krull like Gronk. Do everything !! Kick their butts.

Aren't there some folks on here that claim bowl games are meaningless?
In a lot of cases I think a bowl game is meaningless from a W-L perspective. The coaching staff needs to put the players in a position to win this one because of the optics. Most recruits don't consider the Gators a strong national brand anymore. We haven't been for a long time.

Exactly...we've been doing that for a while now and I'm on record saying bowl games matter. I'm just curious if there are some posters saying how much we need to beat them but have said bowls dont matter in the past.

This bowl game by the extended teamwork will make us better. It can showcase UF to many 15-17 y.o. watchers.
Show that orange & blue are the best school colors. Prove Albert & Alberta are the funnest mascots. I'm sure UF's high academics will be recognized nationally.

Whole flipping State. Goes back to Mich State at the 99 Final Four. Michigan State Citrus Bowl. Mich State NCAA in Tampa.
Gets worse. The national letdown. GM bailout of '08, the tainted water in Flint. The Chevy Volt, Pontiac Aztec. The C5. Hell, the Supremes. They haven't broken the top 40 in 50.

They became the Jackson Four in 2009.

But we did give them Mac. That makes up for everything sucky they did.

Off topic, kinda, but check out Flint Town on Netflix. Great docuseries.

When was the last time we could say we had this many options on offense? Encouraging!

And just believe, Mgnihilo, that Mullen further develops Franks to 65% the runner Tebow was, by slashing not bashing. What an increase in drives that end in TDs. Multiple RBs have multiple gain-lanes open up for them.
That's Mullen achieving his offense, UF's offense. Gotta happen. Don't we have the ingredients?
