So UF can in theory go to 31 signees and count back 6, if UF has 6 signees who will enroll in January and the staff . I believe that to be the case with the early enrollees. .
It is the case but youre screwed up on the order. Basically any early enrollee (or juco or initial counter transfer) who is on campus in January can count back. In other words if we have 8, 10 or whatever EEs/jucos then all can count back, bc last uears class was so small and it to had a large number of kids counting back. It isnt 31-25= 6, as you suggested.

Because of the 85 limit, if we dont Saban some of the current roster, we will likely still have less than 25 counting for this year's class.

Ox wants this to be ESD only. Lets take further diacussion to the main recruiting thread.

Finally a Florida fan can do math!!! I asked the same question on another thread and got called names and people telling me "its impossible to know" all it does is require simple math
It isnt simple math bc we can look at the class numbers off of rivals but we have been signing small classes forever and arent REALLY sure which kids counted back each year. Obviously, we also habe to project who is leaving, which is absolutely impossible.

Really hope we can get this kid. He's our best shot at a 5 star this year. Oregon is in the mix but he's never taken an official. Players rarely go back to the school they decommit from (USC). USCe has landed one 5 star from outside their state in 15 years or more.

Wow. If we get this kid because of Grantham, then all will be forgiven. Grantham will be okay in my book.

Not necessary IMHO. However, if you could withhold your incessant whining and complaining for the actual complaint thread, we’d all appreciate it. No need to repeat yourself in 3 different threads...

or repeat himself in every thread, every day, for the past several years

Well there is no nonsense allowed in the new 3rd recruiting thread so maybe the whining and complaining won’t be allowed either? Kinda doubt it, but we can hope.

Edit to clarify for CGGator: You’re following Donk around bytching about his bytching and for his not being positive is also “whining and complaining” over and over again. Thus, pot meet kettle analogy.

1. I did not screw up the order. There is NO order. It is an "OR" situation. There are two constraints and whichever one is binding is the one that matters.

2. You can not count back and be over either 85 or 25 in the prior August. That means UF likely was not able to count back all 8 early enrollees last year. However even if UF was able to count back all 8 early enrollees, the 85-79 = 6 constraint is still binding.

3. It remains 6 if my count on the 85 limit of 79 is right. And it is the count in August 2018 that matters, Lemon leaving midseaon does not change the August count. Lemon leaving does give UF one more slot for the August 2019.

It is not impossible to have a good idea how many UF can sign. (It is impossible to know if the staff thinks next years prospects are better than this years and they should save a few opennings.) If you follow the depth chart by class year after year, your number gets better and better. So my number this year may not be as good as it was a decade ago when I have followed this through multiple classes, but it is pretty close and not that complicated if you follow recruiting. UF like all schools can have 25 initial scholarship players in August 2019. If UF had 79 scholarship players in August 2018, then UF can sign at most 31 in this class as long as UF had at most 19 initial scholarship players in August of 2018.

You guys who are in the know can send me the list of secret commits and I will include them.

... err, but they're secret ? -- always with the impossible demands, eh Swonkey.
(Actually you've done a fine job clearing the fog enveloping recruiting, Swonk.)
Further, don't you have a cologne out called "Swonk" and didn't Charlize Theron steal your video ad ??

There are actually THREE rules.

A max of 25 initial NOIs in a year.

A max of 25 initial counter in a year.

And a max of 85. Yes, this is icoutned in August and a team could go up to a higher number than 85 and wait for people to leave.

85 minus total number of scholarships has absolutely zero to due with how many can countback. There is no such limit or formula. This is just another one of your insane delusions. Show a link or stfu.

Mod please clean this up. Just move this instigator bullshyt and my responses to the main thread, please.

As predicted you are going to trash this thread too. You can not have more than 85 players on scholarship at any time. You thus can NOT count back more players than you were under the 85 limit in August otherwise you would have had more than 85 players on your roster in August. The silly SEC PR rule is meaningless.

That makes zero fvkking sense, shows a complete lack of understanding or the rules, as always from you.

Show a link to your insane INSTIrule or SHUT THE FKKKK UP. Here are the rules: NCAA Publications - 2016 and 2017 NCAA Football Rules and Interpretations Updated version with changes - 7 19 2017 – PDF version only. Not in print.

Youre as goofy on this as Crete on redshirts.
